1. My Music video first draft evaluation
Firstly there are a lot of things I would like to change about my music video. One of the things is the
way I have filmed the performance part of the video, I feel I can get a better location to film the
shots and create a more effective scene to compliment the music type. Also I can get better
equipment so that it looks more professional.
Furthermore I used some colour changing techniques, I wasn’t happy with the outcome on some of
the shots. For the final edit I will do colour changing on after effects and spend more time making
sure that the colour effects are to professional standards and actually look like they belong to the
video.
Also throughout the music video it is kind of hard to figure out what is going on, so I would take
some more shots of the narrative side of the video so that there is a clearer understanding of what’s
going on. Although there are some effective shots of the main characters which I would like to get
more of from different angles to emphasise certain points in the video that I think worked well with
the song and complimented to tone of it.
Right before the end of the video there is two empty spaces that I didn’t get the shots to fill, for my
final edit I will make sure I have all the shots I need as well as extra so that no part of the video is left
blank. On the drums during the performance video it was hard to get the song and video to match
so when I redo the performance shots I will try to make the shot as close to the soundtrack as
possible so it actually looks like its being played.
At certain points throughout the video there are parts that look like they don’t be long with the rest
of the video because of the settings or because of colour contrast. To stop this from happening again
I will make sure the setting of the shots are similar to the others also tweak the colour a little bit to
make it look more like its part of the actual video.
