2. • I have learnt and improved on quite a few things from my preliminary task which I
have applied to my final magazine. On the front cover, the cover-lines were not
neatly arranged and the shades of red were different (not consistent), keeping that
in mind I have not made the same mistakes for the final front cover and have
ensured that the text is neat, and that the colour is consistent and well arranged. For
the contents page, in my preliminary task there was very little content on the
contents page. This time I have ensured that there is a lot of content on the
contents page (text and images) so that the audience feel that the magazine is value
for money. I have also improved the columns as for my final magazine I have
included two new columns which are ‘regulars’ and ‘features’.
3. • In the preliminary task, I directly addressed the audience through the image of the model as
the model is directly looking at the camera it makes the audience feel like the model is
addressing them. I felt that the technique worked with that task so I decided to use the same
technique again, so my model for this magazine is also directly looking at the camera which
makes the audience feel like they are being directly addressed. The quality of the
photography for my final magazine is much higher than the photography in the preliminary
task as I used a phone to shoot for the preliminary task, however I used a high quality DSLR
camera to shoot for the final magazine. I have also used other techniques in my magazine
help capture the audience’s attention which is the colour scheme, this is an unusual way of
addressing the audience but in my opinion it has worked. I decided to type my cover-lines in
pink and black, the name of the artists are in bright pink and the remaining text of the
cover-line is black, by doing this I feel that it captures the attention of the audience as the
bright pink colour catches your eye.

although I thought it would do, and I felt that I should use a more vivid colour and
also make the text bold and I was sure that this would help the cover-lines stand out
and it did work this time.
