From their preliminary task to final product, the student learned important Photoshop skills like cropping, fading, cloning, and healing tools. They also learned how to attract their target audience and make their magazine look more professional through camera shots, mise-en-scene techniques, and rule of thirds composition. Researching other magazines inspired taking photos outside with natural lighting.

5.  From my preliminary task to my final product I feel that I have learnt a lot. The
first thing that I feel that I have learnt the most is Photoshop. This is because before
I did my preliminary task I did not know how to use Photoshop, but then whilst I
was making my preliminary task I was using Photoshop and I gradually gained an
understanding of how to use it. The tools that I learnt to use on Photoshop are:
cropping, fading, cloning, brightening the images, eye dropping tool and the spot
healing brush. These were very helpful whilst making my magazine as it made my
work look much more professional. I used the cropping tool to crop my images to
the correct size, I then used the cloning tool to get rid of some of my models hairs
that went across her face. I also used the cloning tool to get rid of some of the
branches in the background. I learnt how to brighten my images, this then allowed
my images to stand out and look bright. I then used the eye dropping tool to get a
colour from one of my images, then into the text. I used the yellow flowers in the
background, to then use that colour for my writing. The final tool that I learnt to
use was the spot healing tool, I used this to get rid of my models spots or anything
that was on there face, this allowed the image to look clear and professional. This
helped me to develop my skills as I was able to do this on my final product after
having a rough idea of how to use these tools whilst doing my preliminary task.
Then when I was making my final magazine I was confident with how to use it
and I felt comfortable with making my magazine and I knew what I needed to do
to make my magazine look professional.

6.  Another element that I feel that I have learnt from the
start where I was making my preliminary magazine is
that, I have learnt how to attract my target audience
with images and the text that I use on my magazine.
For example I have used an artist that is 17 years old
and that is the same age as my target audience,
therefore they may feel relatable. I have developed
from my preliminary task as my product is different. It
is different because I have used different camera shots,
in my preliminary I used a mid shot, this allowed the
audience to see the models figure and clothing, but in
my final product I used a close up, this then allowed
the audience to focus on the models face and it stands
out as the picture is much bigger.

7.  From my preliminary task to my final product it is clear that
I have used different mise en scene, as you can see in my
preliminary task they all had a white background, but in my
final product I took some photos outside so that there was a
mixture of different photos. This also meant that my
magazine was not as boring and it made my magazine look
much more professional. I also used various different
camera shots so that the audience are interested. On my
preliminary task I only used three photos, one of them is a
mid shot and one is an over the shoulder shot. In my final
magazine I used an extreme close up, close up, mid shot and
a long shot. Therefore I also felt that I learnt how to take
many different camera shots to make my images look
professional. After making my preliminary task I also learnt
how to use the rule of thirds on my photos. As I used these
shots that I learnt it improved my work to make it look like
a real magazine.

8.  I used different mise en scene in my final product
as there are many magazines that inspired me to
have my images outside. My main inspiration was
Fader, I believe that I learnt to take images with
natural lighting from researching after I had made
my preliminary task.
