Job Responsibility/Achievement:
Currently in Plan Uganda, I am primarily responsiblefor overseeing and ensuring the operations

 The core duties of this role included working for South Western Uganda Refugees Food
Project (WREF) as Project coordinator for six months. Here, I was responsible for
streaming the overall systems for warehouses/stores coordination, procurement
processes, commodity management, staff management and the overall oversight –both
programmatic and financial of South Western Refugee Food Project for the six months I
was there. Some of the activities successfully handled in Western Refugee Food (WREF)
included, but not limited to
 Made thorough assessments of the logistics issues (flights, trucking, warehousing
availability, access routes etc.) and continued assessment to note relevant changes to
ensure most cost effective and timely supply to program sites
 Supervised all commodity movements, commodity stocks and related reporting. Ensured
timely reporting on stock status and help program staff with planning of the stock
replenishment
 During the period, I guided Management, trained Storekeepers and Food Management
Committee teams in commodity management and good practices in commodity
 Management; Directed and facilitated project staff in implementation of food assistance
activities and regular reporting to WFP, and ensured effective coordination of finances
and partnership creation and development of Project activities with the Office of the
Prime Minister (OPM), UNHCR,SP and WFP respectively.

For five years, the major roles and responsibilities undertaken with USAID Program were as
follows;
1) Warehouse and DistributionOfficer, for a period of three years and
2) Distribution and IntegrationCoordinator /Head of Office, for a period of two years.
Job Title (1): Warehouse and Distribution Officer:
 Planned, organized and developedthe long term strategy to achieve advantage through
configuration of resources and competences with the aim of fulfilling stakeholders’
requirements and expectations.
 Supervised and monitored commodities distributions activities so that the distributed
commodities are received by the eligiblebeneficiaries as per USAID/donor requirements
and ensured that stocks do not run out completely.
 Project coordination: Coordinated the distributions of commodities to the beneficiaries
and coordinated commodity releases and distributions planning for the region. Also
ensured that warehouse structures are centrally located within the caption areas to
facilitateeasy deliveries of food to all (FoodDistribution Points) FDPs.
 Supervised and coordinated integration activities with Grantees and Beneficiaries and
also developed and improved programmaticand organizational tools to realize effective
programming for People Leaving with HIV /AID (PLWHA).
 Worked in partnership with Uganda’s Ministry of Health (MOH), alongside notable
implementing partners like the TASO Initiative and Partners in Health interventions on
HIV/AIDS.
 Developed, provided systems and procedures for supplies of goods and services (Food
and non-food items) appropriate to the activities of USAID –ACDI/VOCA; Collaborated
with the commodity and Warehouse Administrative Assistants on commodity
replenishments, distribution and dispatches to the beneficiaries in the operations areas.
 Professionally managedthe inventory and movement of materials in and out of the
USAID - ACDI/VOCA main Warehouses and secondary warehouse/Stores, to meet the
demands of the poorest of the poor.
 Ensured accurate and up-to date information on stocks –including expiry dates, pipeline
and lead times- by applying creative negotiation techniques that the most successful
procurement negotiators use;
 Managed and followed up all orders (commodity and logistical) and freights; worked
with the Uganda government to design and implement components of the program
related to logistics and supply chain of HIV/AIDS drugs.
 Ensured there are appropriate tools and procedures to facilitatesmooth supply chain

Job Title (2): Distribution and Integration Coordinator/Head of Office; Based in Lira Warehouse

 Project coordination: Supervisedand coordinated all staff and distribution activities of
the centers in Lango, Teso and Acholi Sub- regions so that distributed commodities do
not end up in the wrong hands
 Monitored movement/transportation of commodity fromthe USAID -ACDI/VOCA
Kampala head Office Warehouse hub to its final distribution points (FDPs) and carried
out rapid beneficiary assessments in order to determine their eligibility to join the
programme; Liaised and coordinated information sharing with other stakeholders e.g.
UN agencies, NGO’s, Donors and Local Authorities operating in the Project Areas.
 Used FIFO principle for each commodity delivered to avoid losses in the
warehouses/stores.
 Carried out contractual arrangements with service providers that related to commodity
transportation, warehousing, quality survey and fumigation exercises i.e. to mitigate
materials losses in the warehouses and FDPs.
 Supervised, managed and coordinated all logistics relatedactivities from the technical
and management point of view in a professional manner to enhance speed and accuracy
in the supply chain.
 Implemented logistics management systems according to ACDI/VOCA Logistics policy
manual and Guidelines and also lead in matters pertaining but not limited to;
International , local procurement and tender procedures, contracting, commodities
import, warehousing, transport (international and in-country), vehicle fleet management,
asset and inventory management, distribution support and mandatory reporting
(weekly/monthly), and ensured proper set up of new sites or closure of sites when project

During this period I doubled as a senior storekeeper and for one year acted as a procurement
Manager in the Corporation with the following roles under my docket;
 Managed compliancewith the policies and procedures set out in NWSC Stores manual,
policy and procedure manuals that would be applicable to a specific activity or situation
(security, Finances, HR policies).
 Ensured that all drivers and Corporation staff were aware of and followed rules and
regulations of the Corporation and standard operating procedures (SOPS) regarding
vehicle usage.
 Checked stocks cards/bin cards records against physical stocks and ensured that all
variances identifies are properly accounted for and well explained for Management
decision making and that all stores records were well maintained.
 Supervised and managed inbound and outbound stocks and equipment movements
which were in line with the operational and project standards and personal
transportation of the organization staff; above all ensured that stocks do not run out
completely- implying that stock levels were well managed.
 Performed the goods receipts of incoming materials and process returns chlorine gas
cylinders to the supplier /manufacturer in Durban, South Africa.
 Timely coordinated receipt, storage and dispatch of supplies from main warehouses and
secondary stores in the country and planned utilization of warehouse space, monitored
quality and tracked materials movements accordingly.
 Ensured periodic inspections of stocks and timely submission of corresponding reports
to my line manager (CMES) and conducted procurement process and documented them
accordingly as were required by the organization.
 Minimized damageand repair costs through careful management and preventative
maintenance store handling equipments such as fork lifts, pallets, trolley, etc.
 A member of the management team where I contributed to the strategic direction of the
Stores department in NWSC.
