How effective is the combination of your
main product and ancillary texts?

 To keep our products consistent we've created a house style that's carried out
throughout our main and print . As a group we decided to use Microsoft Yi Baiti
for our text as it was similar to the text that Rihanna's has used previously on
her albums and her promotional posters. To begin with we were stuck between
two fonts, Microsoft Yi Baiti and Haettenschweiler .To help make our decision we
organized a mini focus group of our targeted audience to choose which on e
looked better and the one that got the highest vote was Microsoft Yi Baiti
because “ it was a clear and professional looking font that matched our
photography” .
 For our layout of our print products we placed the title in the center at the
top on our CD packaging and on our magazines to familiarize our audience of
the house style . We hoped by doing this consumers of the main product would
se the connection between the CD and the magazine adverts
 The print products follow a colour scheme of white, grey and black. We
wanted to keep our first photo shoot simple for the front cover so that our
model was the focus and so you could see the difference between the second
photo shoot we did for the back cover . Originally we planned to do the
vulnerable photo shoot using a white backdrop and the rebellious shoot using a
black backdrop. However on the day of the shoot we weren’t too happy with
the black backdrop and decided to use a white one for both shoots with a grey
 Even though location and colour schemes our music video is different to the
print products we still decided to incorporate the theme of vulnerability from
the music video into the print products by utilizing black and white filter and
using unconventional vulnerable poses that isn’t typical of Rihanna.
 We planned for our actor Hannah who plays Rihanna's to play a girl whose
venerable and lonely . We achieved this through the theme of
vulnerability which is displayed in both the promotional music video and
print products. Our male character that plays Future was represented as
masculine and vulnerable yet still confident in order to gain the love of
the female character. We decided to use the black and white vulnerable
image of the female character on the front of the CD package so that the
audience could immediately draw a link between both products. In the
music video we see the female characters confidence grow towards the
end of the music video when she has found her partner. Our confident
Rihanna's photo shoot image was placed on the back cover, after the
filming of the music video to exaggerate the transition that she has
made.
 In the beginning of our vide Rihanna's is wearing dark colored clothing to
represent her being lost and vulnerable. however in the middle her
clothes brighten up to convey her starting to love aging once she's met
her love(the male charter. Like Rihanna's Future(the Male Character also
wears quite dull colored clothing in the middle and were brighter colour
once he finds his love. Moreover at the end of the video the two appear
to be naked as this shows they no longer feel vulnerable as they have
each others presence. We’ done this to show that both character were
vulnerable and lonely up until the part that met each other.
 The reason behind us choosing the colour scheme was so that the
promotional advertisement looked like they were apart of the
same album. Moreover to contribute to that idea we used similar
images for our print products so that the theme stayed
consistent. doing this would make our model more recognizable
e . Another thing that would makes her more recognizable so her
hair her is being the same in several scenes inn the video and in
all of our print products.
 The CD package and the magazine advert reinforce the name of
the artist, the name of the song and reference the featuring
artist to promote the music video as much as possible. As the CD
and magazine photo shoots are not location shoots we had to find
other ways to connect the music video and the print products.
 Another way could of promoted the album is by doing small
behind the scene and sneak peak videos that could be place on
social networks like Twitter, Keek ,Blogger, Instagram ,YouTube
and Facebook to get the buzz going .

  • 3.  To keep our products consistent we've created a house style that's carried out throughout our main and print . As a group we decided to use Microsoft Yi Baiti for our text as it was similar to the text that Rihanna's has used previously on her albums and her promotional posters. To begin with we were stuck between two fonts, Microsoft Yi Baiti and Haettenschweiler .To help make our decision we organized a mini focus group of our targeted audience to choose which on e looked better and the one that got the highest vote was Microsoft Yi Baiti because “ it was a clear and professional looking font that matched our photography” .  For our layout of our print products we placed the title in the center at the top on our CD packaging and on our magazines to familiarize our audience of the house style . We hoped by doing this consumers of the main product would se the connection between the CD and the magazine adverts  The print products follow a colour scheme of white, grey and black. We wanted to keep our first photo shoot simple for the front cover so that our model was the focus and so you could see the difference between the second photo shoot we did for the back cover . Originally we planned to do the vulnerable photo shoot using a white backdrop and the rebellious shoot using a black backdrop. However on the day of the shoot we weren’t too happy with the black backdrop and decided to use a white one for both shoots with a grey  Even though location and colour schemes our music video is different to the print products we still decided to incorporate the theme of vulnerability from the music video into the print products by utilizing black and white filter and using unconventional vulnerable poses that isn’t typical of Rihanna.
  • 4.  We planned for our actor Hannah who plays Rihanna's to play a girl whose venerable and lonely . We achieved this through the theme of vulnerability which is displayed in both the promotional music video and print products. Our male character that plays Future was represented as masculine and vulnerable yet still confident in order to gain the love of the female character. We decided to use the black and white vulnerable image of the female character on the front of the CD package so that the audience could immediately draw a link between both products. In the music video we see the female characters confidence grow towards the end of the music video when she has found her partner. Our confident Rihanna's photo shoot image was placed on the back cover, after the filming of the music video to exaggerate the transition that she has made.  In the beginning of our vide Rihanna's is wearing dark colored clothing to represent her being lost and vulnerable. however in the middle her clothes brighten up to convey her starting to love aging once she's met her love(the male charter. Like Rihanna's Future(the Male Character also wears quite dull colored clothing in the middle and were brighter colour once he finds his love. Moreover at the end of the video the two appear to be naked as this shows they no longer feel vulnerable as they have each others presence. We’ done this to show that both character were vulnerable and lonely up until the part that met each other.

  • 6.  The reason behind us choosing the colour scheme was so that the promotional advertisement looked like they were apart of the same album. Moreover to contribute to that idea we used similar images for our print products so that the theme stayed consistent. doing this would make our model more recognizable e . Another thing that would makes her more recognizable so her hair her is being the same in several scenes inn the video and in all of our print products.  The CD package and the magazine advert reinforce the name of the artist, the name of the song and reference the featuring artist to promote the music video as much as possible. As the CD and magazine photo shoots are not location shoots we had to find other ways to connect the music video and the print products.  Another way could of promoted the album is by doing small behind the scene and sneak peak videos that could be place on social networks like Twitter, Keek ,Blogger, Instagram ,YouTube and Facebook to get the buzz going .
