SPACE PARTICULARITIES – NOBLE AND EMBLEMATIC
José Marques da Silva was the architect of São Bento Station.
The most notable aspect of this historical station is the large,
magnificent tile panels in the vestibule, work of Jorge Colaço, the
most important portuguese tile painter of the time.
August 2011 – distinguished as one of the most beautiful train
stations in the world by ‘Travel & Leisure’ magazine.
April 2012 – distinguished as one of the top-ten beautiful train
stations in the world by ‘Flavorwire’ magazine.

PLACE OF MOBILITY
São Bento is connected, by suburban trains, with the eastern area of the city of Oporto, the
Campanhã Railway Station (the long-distance and international travel services destination).
Near São Bento exists an underground station, also named São Bento.

joined the Project Violence in Transit, allowing and contributing to:
•A reflection on the subject;
•To draw management and action strategies for the revitalization and
improvement of railway social spaces;
•Improving our service;
•Acquire detailed knowledge about problematic social behaviors in São
Bento Station (study made by an independent institution).
Add value to the community it serves.
