SELCO India
SELCO’s target market consists of individuals and businesses near the bottom
of the income pyramid. SELCO focus on Household product products like Solar water
heater, Solar home lighting, Solar Inverter system and Livelihoods products like
milking machine, sewing machine, Roti rolling machine, Pottery wheels.
Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has sanctioned the 70
lakh solar study lamp scheme to be implemented in five Indian states of Assam, Bihar,
Jharkhand, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh and Solar pumps for Farmers with a 10%
subsidiary. (Source: https://mnre.gov.in/ ). For the past 20 years the company was able
to serve only 450,000 households. Our mission is provide solar products to poor people.
So if our company takeover these 2 solar project our market share definitely will
increase steeply. And our innovation department should focus on Technology-based
partnerships with Indian and Multinational Technical organizations including
Universities, Research institutes to introduce more innovative products at lower price.
Understanding that end-user financing is crucial for providing reliable
energy solutions for the poor in rural and remote areas, SELCO works with a network
of different types of financial institutions like regional rural banks, cooperative
societies, microfinance organization’s (MFI’s) and so on to provide affordable credit
to enable them to purchase energy access solutions like Solar Home Lighting

SELCO Currently deliver across all districts of Karnataka, parts of Maharashtra,
Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Bihar via our 50 company branches to ensure quality of our products

The Sales of SELCO products mainly based on Financial Institutions. So we have
to partnership with more financial institutions to enhance our market shares. And another idea
is to contact the local NGO’s, because they are working for the welfare of the people and
they know the local household area people more than the Bank sales persons. , increasing the
pay commission for sales Persons could have a change in employee attitudes by increasing
organizational commitment, as the employees will feel more committed to the Company
mission because they are being rewarded for their hard work.
