Renewable energy is

13. Mission Statement:
Unease of availability due to high cost and myth about
renewable energy especially Solar Energy is what we
are looking to eradicate from customer`s mind-set.
SOLAXON is filling the gap between the end consumers
and developers through ease of operations, proper sales
after service, and providing complete knowledge of the
system before they go with solar.
What services do you provide to the
customers? Why should one prefer you?
Solaxon Renewable offers a complete turnkey solar rooftop
systemstotheendconsumerunderCAP-EXmodel(Where
customer invest his own fund to avail Solar plant) and OP-
EX model (where the investor/Solar developer setup power
plant on his premises and charges tariff for unit generation
on a monthly basis), Operation and maintenance service
of SPV plants, electrification of the rural area through solar
street lightning.
From the past year, we have executed a 1.2 MW operation
and maintenance service in Uttarakhand only. Also,
electrification is done in some rural areas like Uttarkashi,
Chamoli, Pauri-Gharwal, Naitwad, Dunghandh, and
Gulwadi. Currently, we are executing subsidized projects
under MNRE phase-II for the residential sector in
Uttarakhand, partnered with different vendors, where we
have already achieved a cumulative 500kWp capacity.
We have an incredible collaboration of technical and
administrative specialists in our company which at last
gives a positive effect on the execution of the project, sales
after service, and most significantly the project cost. We
are related with enthusiastically suggested brands like
Waaree, Adani, Novasys, Delta which support our profile.
These are a few reasons why one ought to incline toward
Solaxon Renewable.
What personality traits, skills, and education
do you think is necessary to enhance &
promote the use of renewable energy?
Obviously, the requirement for a range of abilities and
knowledge about renewable energy changes from one
organization to another, from one group to another,
from one individual to another. It relies on whether it
is a customer or a service provider. Assuming we will
discuss the service provider, then it is suggested that the
top and center administration ought to be actually solid
to execute the project with flawlessness. These attributes
will, at last, robotize your working interaction and make
Mr. Anurag Ahlawat
(Director-CEO)
14. a strong establishment with your partners which are
straightforwardly corresponding to the sales after service
part.
“The best way to promote your services is to satisfy your
customer from your work.”
Share with us about your journey
I`m working in the Solar industry for the past 5 years from
where I understand why there is a kind of skepticism or
you can say myth about renewable energy in customer`s
minds. During this period, I have visited a number of the
rural areas where there is no such facility although it is a
huge market space.
When I was working in Zivah International Pvt Ltd, as
a project engineer, I got a chance to supervise a 750kWp
projectinUttarakhandalongwithmyteammembers.There
I met Mr. Rajeev Kumar who handles the operations and
installation of the Solar PV system. We worked mutually
over there. At one such communication with him, I found
a common thing between us, that we both want to explore
solar energy in rural areas and we’re looking for a solution
for long term performance of Solar PV system.
We both took this as an opportunity and planned to
incorporate a company through which we can execute all
these services. Mr. Sumit Dhanuka, Managing Director
of Zivah International Pvt Ltd has strongly supported us
for our vision and offered a 1.2 MW operation service
in Uttarakhand. From there on, we began pitching the
residential and commercial customers and till now we
have gained around 2 MW projects where some of them
under pipeline.
How do you manage the promotion of your
project through social media outreach and
email campaigns?
As a start-up, who runs its organization through
bootstrapping,it'ssmartertorethinkafewerrandsinwhich
you have the low aptitude. It is something very similar
to digital marketing; we have completely re-evaluated
the marketing campaigning to different organizations
on a yearly agreement, which incorporates social media
interaction, email campaigns, podcasting, and all lots
more. This assists us with decreasing the costs and assists
Mr. Rajeev Kumar
Director-COO
15. us to focus on the technical part.
“Light kite will fly high.” It is better to execute the process
in which you have expertise.
What makes an event successful and how do
you measure that success?
It is really difficult to gauge the quantum of progress
as it is boundless, yet so, for a company, the degree of
consumer satisfaction shows its momentary achievement
or sometimes failure. For Solaxon Renewable, if we can
improve our failure and convert it into a palatable outcome
through the eye of the end consumers, that will be the best
event for us. It doesn't matter that each time one will have
achievement however redirecting your failure towards
progress makes an event fruitful.
What was your most successful projecting
experience?
WehaveexecutedouroneprojectatNagaon,Uttar-Pradesh,
where we have installed a 15kWp Solar PV system to run
a wheat crushing machine. The end consumer was not
financially sound. To be the channel partner of one NBFC,
we have taken the loan approval against the customer and
installed the same capacity on his premises.
Presently, he got two advantages from Solaxon, neither
to pay enormous hostage in a single part nor he needs to
take care of electricity bills for daytime utilization. This
makes his business more beneficial and eventually, the end
consumer is completely fulfilled to choose SOLAXON.
There we accomplished our first objective. In spite of the
fact that it's a little capacity, it's simply a beginning. We do
expect that before the finish of 2021, we will gain half of
such regions.
What steps do you take to handle last-minute
or unexpected setbacks before and during
any project?
Despite the fact that before the execution of any
undertaking, we generally do a site visit and make a
legitimate attainability report including the design of the
proposed plant, SLD with saving reports. There are a few
cases, where a miscommunication brings about a deferral
in the projects. In such cases, we attempt to determine
these issues on a priority basis. I and Mr. Rajeev Kumar
personally examine the matter and to annihilate the issue,
we reassign the technical member and resolve it ASAP.
Can you describe emerging trends you've
noticed in sustainable energy?
Sustainable Energy is a huge market including Solar,
Wind, and Electric Vehicles. Presently, the construction
of solar roof projects, E-vehicle, Electric charging station,
Energy storage utility like Li-ions are arising patterns in
sustainable energy. According to the 2019 investigation,
the Global market size of electrical vehicles is USD 273.22
billion which is identical to 19.8 Lakh Crore in Indian
Rupee. Electric vehicles and their supporting adornments
will obtain the worldwide market within 10 years.
What are your upcoming projects?
Now Solaxon Renewable is looking to expand its services
in north India. Currently, we have a cumulative capacity
of 55.5 MW Solar projects under CAP-EX, OP-EX, Group
Captive model, on which we are with our investor along
with end consumer, where the project needs to execute
at Chhattisgarh, Ghaziabad (UP), Bhagwanpur (UK),
and Bhopal (M.P). Along with this, Solaxon got qualified
for the 80MW project with Goa Energy Development
Authority under the MNRE Phase-II Scheme, which needs
to be implemented from the mid of April 2021.

22. Rapid developments in the technology employed for
renewable energy gathering have resulted in a rising
share of such sources relative to conventional ones,
prompted in part by governmental investments and
climate change awareness (e.g. fossil fuels). Wind energy
is captured specifically through the use of turbines that
can be located onshore (on land) or offshore (at sea).
Offshore wind farms are becoming more popular for a
varietyofreasons,includingthefactthatwindconditions
are stronger and steadier at sea, larger units are more
easily transported and erected, less visual disruption,
and potential conflicts of interest are reduced, among
others. The expense of maintaining wind turbines in
offshore settings, on the other hand, is significant: it
costs roughly 25% of the offshore installation to ensure
that wind turbines work at their best over their lifetime
(typically 20–25 years).
Condition monitoring (CM) is the process of watching
the components of a wind turbine in order to detect
changes in operation that may indicate the onset of
a defect. It is obvious that using robust CM to detect
faults before they occur should result in significant
cost savings in Operation and Maintenance (O&M).
Analyses of certain metrics and characteristics of
the operation have been used in CM techniques (e.g.
vibration analysis, strain measurement, thermography
and acoustic emissions). Recent advancements in sensor
and sign preparing frameworks, large information the
board, AI (ML), and computational capacities have set
out open doors for incorporated and inside and out
CM analytics, where various sorts of data can work
with informed, reliable, cost-effective, and robust CM
decision-making.
Condition monitoring of wind turbines
Wind turbine CM is an important aspect of O&M,
where operations cover the management, monitoring,
and high-level onshore control of the wind farm site,
and maintenance covers the interventions required to
keep the installation in good working order. Reactive
(or corrective, run-to-failure) maintenance is the most

23. expensive and does not use CM, with components
being replaced when defects occur or accumulate;
preventive maintenance replaces components at the
next intervention, hopefully before a related fault
occurs; and a predictive maintenance strategy based on
CM can inform maintenance.
CM can be viewed along several aspects.
To begin with, CM may be used at many degrees
of granularity: at the most granular level, we may
monitor the state of wind turbine sub-components
(e.g. drivetrain); at the coarsest level, we can evaluate
the entire wind farm. Different models’ signals can be
combined to generate higher-level alerts for the entire
turbine.
Second, the methods used to monitor a component
can have a physical influence on the component being
watched. There are two basic forms of monitoring
identified in the literature:
■ Intrusive Monitoring: involves Vibration Analysis,
oil debris monitoring, shock pulse methods etc. Such
methods impose a penalty (wear) on the component
being monitored.
■ Non-intrusive Monitoring: involves ultrasonic
testing techniques, visual inspection, acoustic
emission, thermography, performance monitoring
using power signal analysis etc.
Thirdly, CM can be used for fault detection in real-time
or in the future, so we distinguish between:
■ CM for diagnosis (fault detection), where we
identify a fault when it happens. Ensuring that the
CM can identify the presence of failure should be a
prerequisite for building a ML model for prognosis.
■ CM for prognosis (fault prediction), where the
underlying model finds patterns in the signal data
that are predictive of failures in the future.
It’scrucialtoexaminethefailureratesanddowntimesper
failure of distinct sub-components when determining
which components to monitor. Components that
are more likely to fail or cause significant downtimes
are given special attention since they have the largest
potential impact.
Machine learning (ML) overview
ML refers to the technique of creating an inductive
model that learns from a little quantity of data without
the need for a professional. This type of learning entails
identifying an underlying set of structures (or patterns)
that may be used to comprehend relationships in data
that isn’t identical to the data on which the learning
took place. Unsupervised learning derives inferences
from data without labelled inputs, whereas supervised
learning predicts an output variable using labelled
input data (such as done by clustering algorithms,
recommender systems etc). We distinguish between
models that predict a numeric variable (regression) and
models that predict a categorical variable (classification)
in supervised learning (classifiers). Fitting a model’s
parameters to a certain dataset and iteratively updating
them with numerous passes through the data until a
specific preset function is reduced is what learning in
models entails.
The ML process can be represented as a series of steps:
■ Data acquisition and preprocessing: where possibly
different data sets and modalities are integrated,
cleaned of outliers, etc.
■ Feature selection and extraction: important signals
and characteristics are identified and extracted from
the data.
■ Model selection: an appropriate model is chosen,
taking into consideration the task to be solved.
■ Validation: a performance measure is used that is
specifictothetask,includingaccuracy(classification)
and mean absolute error (regression), evaluated on a
validation set of data.

Because the physical and chemical
qualities of diesel and biofuel are quite similar,
they can be blended and used in quantities ranging
from B5 to B100.
Numerous studies have shown that Bio Diesel is
the preferred fuel over diesel; some of the critical
differences are listed below:
■ Better ignition & combustion characteristics due to
higher Cetane Index.
■
Reduction in exhaust emissions (Particulate
Matter or PM, UN burned hydrocarbon & carbon
monoxide)duetothepresenceofnaturallyoccurring
oxygen that enables the fuel to burn completely.
■ It is naturally free of Sulphur & so produces no
Sulphur di Oxide, considered to be one of the main
causes of Acid Rain.
■ Reduces Carbon Foot Print since it is completely
made from Renewable resources.

30. Aging is an unavoidable reality of life. It has unavoidable
consequences for all types of machinery, lowering the
efficiency, output, and availability of steam and gas
turbines, solar PV modules, batteries, and cars. Previous
research on wind turbines has looked at individual
component reliability and the effect of ageing on
availability, but no influence on turbine or farm energy
production has been extensively reported.
Wind farms will provide a lower cumulative lifespan
output if load factors (also known as capacity factors)
decline significantly with age, raising the levelised cost
of electricity from the facilities. If the rate of degradation
was too high, it could be worthwhile to replace the
turbines sooner rather than later, meaning that the
turbine’s economic life was less than its technical life,
further raising its cost.
According to a recent research by Hughes for the
Renewable Energy Foundation (REF), this could have
substantial policy consequences for the desirability
of investing in wind power. The load factors of wind
farms in the UK have fallen by 5–13 percent every year,
according to that analysis, when normalised for month-
to-month changes in wind speeds.
Given that a turbine’s production is dependent on wind
speeds at its site and the efficiency with which it absorbs
the energy in that wind, several factors might obfuscate
the relationship between age and perceived output in a
fleet of wind farms. For example, if wind speeds have
decreased significantly over time, farms would have
lower load factors in recent months, when they were at
their oldest, resulting in a fictitious link between age and
poor performance. If design advancements increase a
turbine’s output relative to capacity (power coefficient),
How Does the Performance of Wind
Farms Degrade as They Get Older?
30 MAY 2021 SwiftNLift
31. newer turbines (of the improved design) will have
greater load factors than older turbines, giving the
impression that turbine output declines with age when
it actually improves with newer generations. If the best
(windiest) sites were taken first, old farms could have
higher load factors than new farms erected on inferior
sites, giving the impression that turbines improve with
age.
Over time, all machinery suffers irreversible
performance losses. Despite frequent cleaning and
component replacement, gas turbine efficiency declines
unrecoverably by 0.3–0.6% each year, or by 0.75–
2.25 percent without. Similarly, the average annual
production of solar photovoltaic panels decreases by
0.5 percent. Studies of the levelised cost of electricity
(LCOE) of wind power do not typically account for
this decrease in performance. Recent analyses by Mott
MacDonald, Parsons Brinckerhoff, and Arup accounted
for conventional plant efficiency declining by 0.15–0.55
percent each year, however wind turbines were not
included.
The availability and reliability of wind turbines have
been the topic of previous research. In the available
literature, there appear to be no long-term fleet-
level research of wind farm output loss. Quantifying
performance degradation is challenging regardless
of technology since reliable and validated field data is
difficult to come by.
Reanalyses are atmospheric boundary layer models that
transform physical observations from met masts and
other sources into a coherent and spatially complete
dataset, and are commonly used to construct wind
atlases in more recent studies. Ofgem appears to have
used it for the first time to estimate the equivalent firm
capacity of the UK’s wind fleet during peak demand
periods in the winter. Hawkins and Ofgem both said that
the reanalysis results must be scaled down by a constant
factor (29 percent and 20%, respectively) to match real
production in the UK, a result that we expand on in our
study.
Data sources
On-site monitoring of conditions using wind turbine
SCADA systems is widespread, and software products
like WaSP or consultancies like GL Garrad Hassan are
commonly utilised in the field. Data isn’t made public,
and these services cost thousands of euros.
National average data, on the other hand, can’t tell you
what’s going on at particular wind farms.
Extrapolating wind speeds to turbine hub
height
“Probably one of the most crucial uncertainty factors
affecting the wind power evaluation at a site” is
extrapolating wind speeds from the height of measuring
stations to the significantly higher hub height of wind
turbines. Because friction from the earth’s surface
causes the variation in horizontal wind speeds with
height (known as wind shear or the wind profile), it
is extremely reliant on the individual site conditions:
terrain surface roughness, air temperature, season,
atmospheric stratification, and wind speed itself.

38. Coal, oil, and natural gas, which are used to generate
power, account for one-third of worldwide greenhouse gas
emissions. It is critical to improve people’s living standards
by providing cleaner and more reliable electricity. India’s
energy demand is rising in order to meet the country’s
current economic development ambitions. The provision
of growing amounts of energy is a necessary condition
for a country’s economic growth. The Ministry of Power’s
National Energy Plan [NEP] has produced a 10-year
detailed action plan with the goal of providing electricity
across the country, as well as a second plan to ensure that
powerisdeliveredtocitizenseffectivelyandatareasonable
cost. According to the World Resource Institute’s 2017
report, India is responsible for about 6.65% of total world
carbon emissions, ranking fourth after China (26.83%),
the United States (14.36%), and the European Union
(14.36%). (9.66 percent ). Climate change has the potential
to disrupt the world’s ecological balance. The United
Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
(UNFCCC) and the Paris Agreement have received

39. Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs).
The latter sought to achieve the objective of keeping global
warming well below 2 degrees Celsius. Global electricity
demand will peak in 2030, according to the World Energy
Council. India is one of the world’s largest coal consumers,
requiring pricey fossil fuel imports. Coal and oil provide
over 74 percent of total energy needs. The country
imported 171 million tonnes of coal in 2013–2014, 215
million tonnes in 2014–2015, 207 million tonnes in 2015–
2016, 195 million tonnes in 2016–2017, and 213 million
tonnes in 2017–2018, according to a research from the
Center for Monitoring Indian Economy. As a result,
finding other forms of electricity generation is critical.
To achieve sustainable growth and avert catastrophic
climate change, the government will make a rapid and
global shift to renewable energy technology in this
manner. The government has created a sustainable
energy supply plan in recent years. Citizens have been
encouraged to conserve energy through promoting
the use of solar, wind, biomass, trash, and hydropower.
Clean energy is clearly less hazardous and, in many cases,
less expensive. By 2022, India hopes to have 175 GW
of renewable energy, with 100 GW coming from solar
energy, 10 GW from biopower, 60 GW from wind power,
and 5 GW from small hydropower projects. Investors
have pledged to reach a total capacity of more than 270
GW, far beyond the lofty expectations. The following are
the promises: Foreign companies contributed 58 GW,
private corporations contributed 191 GW, private sectors
contributed 18 GW, and Indian Railways contributed 5
GW. According to recent predictions, solar power will be
more than 750 GW and wind power will be 410 GW in
2047. To meet the government’s lofty goal of generating
175 GW of renewable energy by 2022, 330,000 additional
jobs and livelihood possibilities are required.
Thegrowthofrenewableenergytechnologyshouldbeaided
by a combination of push policies and pull mechanisms,
as well as specific initiatives. Technology advancements,
appropriate regulatory policies, tax deductions, and
efforts to improve efficiency through research and
development (R&D) are some of the pathways to energy
and environmental conservation that should ensure that
renewable resource bases are used in a cost-effective
and timely manner. As a result, initiatives to encourage
investment in the renewable energy sector as well as jobs
for unskilled people, technicians, and contractors are
considered. The government’s technological and financial
initiatives, policy and regulatory framework, as well as
training and educational activities for the growth and
development of renewable energy sources are all detailed
in this article. The advancement of renewable technologies
has run across clear roadblocks, necessitating a discussion
of these roadblocks. Furthermore, it is critical to identify
potential solutions to overcome these obstacles, and as a
result, appropriate recommendations for the continuous
growth of renewable energy have been proposed.
Given India’s tremendous renewable energy potential,
consistent regulatory measures and an investor-friendly
administration may be the most important factors in
the country becoming a world leader in clean and green
energy.
Globalprimaryenergyconsumptionforecast
A source of energy is a requirement for socioeconomic
progress. In recent decades, the rapid economic growth of
developing countries has resulted in an increase in energy
consumption. This tendency is expected to continue.
The investigation of appropriate environmental and
economic policies requires a projection of future power
usage. Similarly, a forecast of future power usage aids in
determining future renewable energy investments. Energy
supply and security have become critical challenges not
only for human society’s progress, but also for global
political and economic processes. As a result, international
comparisons are useful in determining historical, current,
and future electricity usage.
What role do renewable energy sources play
in India’s energy demand?
Even though India has experienced rapid and impressive
economic expansion, energy is still in short supply. India’s
strong economic growth is driving up energy demand,
necessitating the development of new energy sources to
meet this demand. At the same time, the country faces
the problem of long-term development due to rising
population and environmental degradation. In the future,
thegapbetweenpowerdemandandsupplyisanticipatedto
widen. Table 4 shows the country’s power supply situation
from 2009–2010 to 2018–2019. (until October 2018). In
2018, energy demand was 1,212,134 GWh, while supply
was 1,203,567 GWh, resulting in a 0.7 percent deficit.
