SELCO INDIA is a company which providesolar related product to the lower
income group at cheaper rate also they have a tie up with NBFC’s and BANK’s
for providing microfinance for their customer.
VISION OF THE COMPANY

 PROVIDEEMPLOYMENTOPPORTUNITY
 PROVIDEDOOR STEP SERVICES
The company will expand it’s business in these area
1. PRODUCTLINE EXPANSION
2. SALES NETWORKEXPANSION
3. ENERGY SERVICE SECTOR EXPANSION
The company’s main target is to provide “Employment” to the lower
income group.
As per the casegiven to us Selco was doing well till the year 2000
after that when it went for expansion via opening of franchisedealer
slowly it affected the finance of the company then started recovering
then there was price spikethen due to that sales declined so did the
profit. They went with the partnership with banks and NBFC’s to
providemicrofinance solution to lower income group and also with
innovation in the product to fulfil their electricity needs.
As per our group discussion I would suggestas a general manager is
as per below:
1. Product Line Expansion;
Various Products like:
 Solar CFL
 Solar Fan
 Solar Tube light
 Solar Panels
 Solar Water Heater
 Solar Street Light
 Solar Battery etc.
Target Housewives
Target High Networth Individual with better products and you can keep
margin and also the profit will be mitigated.
We can go with digital payment system there will be cut of paper cost
There is government exemptions of solar products as many
discussions going on AMU solar energy there will be benefited with
exemptions as we are targeting low income group.
Also more training to the employees for the better result.
2. Sales Network Expansion
 Company has to invest little bit in marketing of product so that there is
a brand of this company in the market so there is awareness also if
someone want to invest they can invest.
 We can keep exhibition for all so that there is awareness also we can
share the benefit of the product so they that they get attracted.
 We should conduct seminar or presntation in all type of colleges,
school also target them and explain the product and benefits.
 Appoint Electrical & Communication Engineer as Interns also
innovation in product.
 Elemination of middle Person in sales.
3. Energy Service Centers Expansion
 Collaborate with the Companies of same business line.
These are the points which I think Selco should Go with for Better
result.
