This the the first week back for the 2019-20 school year! Welcoming back the old team with two new members, MBTS had a great and productive start to the year.
2. This is the first
week that the senior
team is back on the
project. Along with
the four old members
(Holger, Christina,
Drew, and Justin),
we have two new
seniors: Alessia and
Alex.

4. The MBTS website was revamped to have a more
professional look and create a more efficient
way to explore the website. At first glance
there are new tabs at the top of the page,
which make it more user-friendly. Additional
information was also added to each topic.

5. This week we began working on the plate scanner. New aspects:
● Completed new design of the microscope and camera system.
Allows us to zoom in on the tardigrades.
● Currently working on 3D printing parts. Designed 3 out of
the 4 parts for the system. 1 has been printed.
● The metal pieces have been bought for the design.
Currently needs to be glued together.
Software:
● Outlined structure of main program to control Arduino and
AmScope
● Started work on the Arduino side of the main program on
Windows.

7. CREATING SUMMER PROGRAM

Progress of the summer program:
● Course design and thinking about the intended
courses to teach during the program.
● Understanding our customers and finding a way to
interview parents to get concrete feedback of
student participation in courses.
● Learning to advertise through Instagram,
Facebook, Twitter and other social media
platforms.

9. HOW WE FEEL ABOUT THIS WEEK...

Alessia - 9: I felt this was a good and productive week for myself and the
team. I was happy to get up to speed and try my best o gain momentum.
Christina - 9: I am glad we got straight to work on plate scanner, we
already have a revised design, I fixed the website and I am proud of it.
Justin - 9.5: Very productive, we have more power to do what we want and
get things done quickly.
Alex - 8.5: I was excited to come into this internship and get to work
quickly. The plate scanner was very interesting to me but it was difficult
to get up to speed with learning how to use Autodesk and design new
materials.
Holger - 8.5: I was able to figure things out and get productive quickly
every morning that I came into internship.
Drew - 8.5: I felt productive and was able to contribute to the plate
scanner design
