3. This Week’s Objectives:
- Plate Scanner
- Hardware
- Software
- Complete Research Grant Proposal
3
1.
4. Completely reorganizing 4
During the transfer we had 100s of materials and wires misplaced and strewn
about. On Tuesday we spent several hours working on cleaning our supplies
and reorganizing them into boxes. This allowed us to create a stock of what
we have and made it easier to find things we may need.
5. Plate Scanner Updates
Excluding the microscope set-up, we have entirely completed the plate
scanner and can begin using it next week. We completed rewiring it and
have been testing the code to find that it works. We are also going to be
working on creating an AHK script to autosave the arduino pictures into
a folder with time stamps. However, towards the end of the week, we ran
into a problem: one of the motors had stopped working and the team is
quickly attempting to resolve the issue.

6. We completed the research grant proposal in its
entiretyand now are just revising it for small edits and
just expanding the explanations within it to
encompass more ideas and understandings.

11. Round 4:
We will begin working on improving crowdfunding and the overall
complete the tasks required of us.
1. Refine the design for the microgravity habitat and begin plans
to create it and hopefully complete it by the end of this school
year.
2. Advance understanding of tardigrades and work on more
crowdfunding plans

Last week I had outlined all the problems that we had found in the
internship from previous week and the struggles, individual and within a
group, that the team suffered. However this week has shown that the
productivity of the group has changed for the better. Everyone seems
extremely focused and productive. They have been completing tasks far
faster than they ever have and the overall morale and teamwork has
improved greatly. With improvements in work ethic and just overall
groupwork, we are confident we can make up for the lost time we spent
last session.

This week, we were much more productive than the previous
round. We were able to get a lot done, which helped make up for
the slower weeks we had last block.
I hope we can keep up the momentum for the next few
expeditions rounds so we can reach our goals.

This week we managed to 3D print the connector for the
microscope that we have lost. We also have finished the entire
grant proposal. This week we were more efficient than we were
during the past block. I felt like a lot of progress was made.

I felt like we got a lot of work done because we finished the Grant
Proposal draft and are really close to getting the plate scanner to
work. However, I didn’t really have a lot of work to do but I know I
will have more work next week because we will be focusing more
on the microgravity habitat design, which I can help with.

This week was better than last session because we were able to
cooperate more and in turn get more work done. I was happy to
see everyone working together on the grant proposal and getting
it done. Unfortunately it seems like one of the stepper motors
broke for the plate scanner which made the week a bit worse. I
also think that we still have room to improve on our work ethic
though we are getting better each week.
