Name that Alphabet
• Materials Needed:
*alphabet book (Chicka Chicka Boom Boom)
*whiteboard
*magnetic alphabets
*alphabet cards
Instructions:
The teacher will read “Chicka Chicka Boom Boom” by Bill Martin &
John Archambault. The teacher will hold up an alphabet card and
say the letter and its sound. One student will be asked to find the
magnetic letter that matches and say the letter and letter sound. The
student will place the magnetic letter on the whiteboard. The
teacher will continue until all the letters are placed on the
whiteboard.
4. Ipad Use
Ipads can help the student
learn by tracing by finger
of the alphabet as well as
sounding off the letter
sound. The student can
repeat the letter sound.
5. Audio Books
Audio books help the
students listen to the
text. Such things can
be used like cassette
tapes, cds, and or
MP3 players.
6. Smart Board
The student will be
able to click and
drag different
things with a
pointer or finger
during the lesson to
better understand it.
7. Desktop Computer
Many skills can be
developed through Internet
activities. It has its
flexibility and adaptability
to differentiated learning.
Activities can be from the
Frog Street Curriculum,
ABCmouse.com, etc. these
will help the students
advance in learning.
The Ipad can help the student learn by sound and by movement of the finger. An app that can help students in learning alphabets ABCtracing.com
Audio books help the students listen to the text. Such things can be used like cassette tapes, cds, and or MP3 players. Special playback units allow users to search and bookmark pages and chapters that were heard already. The learner will be able to hear the sounds of the each alphabet.
There can be better student engagement. The smartboard will provides different ways the teacher can teach a lesson and support many learning styles of each student.
