ASSURE Tuesday Lesson Plan
Analyzing the students: One 8th Grade Classroom in West Virginia, Nine boys and eleven girls,
Eleven Caucasian students, Six African-American students, and Three Asian-American students.
Stating the Objective: By the end of the second day in lesson two, students will have learned how
to research within a group and present a speech in which they know the topic thoroughly. They
will learn this by completing a webquest on zunal.com, where they will research within a group
to complete the challenge of writing one speech as the president. They will present this speech at
the end of the lesson to 100% accuracy.
Selection of Method: Students will be assigned the webquests and they will be assigned to their
groups. They will research in their groups on computers and write an outline of the speech. They
will then transfer speech to flash cards and present speech to the class.

2. Preparing materials:
Check internet connection
Have flashcards ready
Check webquest website before students log onto the link
Prepare Learners: The instructor will read the entire webquest proposal out loud to the students
to prepare them for completing the webquest, and give some examples of historical moments
they could research for the speech.
Require Learner participation: Students will work in groups to complete theirwebquests and
present as a group with each member reading a part of the speech.
Evaluations of Method and Media: Students will have a class discussion after each presentation
on whether or not they liked the presentation.
