2. Process
• These are two posters (on the bottom
row) I have made and experimented
with using different lighting techniques
and colour. Both posters took around 4
days to complete and the photos were
taken by myself and edited in
Photoshop. I used two existing posters
as inspiration for making these ones,
they are from the films ‘You’re Next’
and ‘The Purge’. Both of my posters
follow a similar pattern with the top
two posters. They both use very dark
lighting to give the main image a more
disturbing effect. Both posters also
portray the fear of the unknown effect
as the characters in the images are
wearing creepy masks. I also made the
text (title) similar to the ones in the
official top two posters. I liked the
scratchy effect the top left poster had
so I implemented it onto my own
version, and also added blood running
down the face to give it more of a gory
and grungy effect.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– My final product is going to include a similar formula
that both the top left, and bottom left posters have.
One of my main posters is going to be very scratchy,
grungy and dirty looking to emphasize the type of
horror film, gore and violence. My second poster, the
theatrical poster, is going to be a lot more minimalist,
and won’t look as dirty / grungy. I am going to use
basic lighting, and have half of the poster surrounded
in darkness, much like the two posters on the top and
bottom right.
