3. For my initial experiment I looked at producing a variety
of different logo designs to have a proper go at
producing images and designs using photoshop. I used
the same method I plan to use when making my logo for
my final design. My method to create a logo was straight
forward I just looked at inspiration from absolutely every
where and the combined different related shapes. None
of these were including any text as I was purely focusing
on designing images. I showed the images I had gained
inspiration from next to the logos so it is easy to see
what the logos are based on.

5. To have a go at producing clothing I first got some
blank templates of t shirts in black and white and
created some basic designs. Having never done
any clothes design I experimented with looks on
the template. I took a logo from my logo
experiments and then placed this on the template
and tried different sizing, colours and
combinations. I thought these came out fairly well
as the first time I had tried making a tee a made
three different products all different in the style of
main stream brands. I did however want to do
some experiments with actual images so next time
I would focus more on creating a t shirt with a
photographed image on.
10. For my last set of experiments I had a go at image editing. I
edited two photos obtained from the internet and two
photos I took myself. The first two images are taken from
the internet and the second are my own. On the first image
of the graffiti wall I aimed to make the picture warmer,
more dusty and give the colour a bit of a tone down so that
both halves of the image matched more. In the second set
of images I zoomed in slightly and corrected a lot of things
but only changing them small amounts e.g vibrance,
brightness, colour. I found this to be effective as it
highlighted the subject of the photo a lot more and seemed
to make her look clearer and more glamourous, I would say
this is my favorite of the ones I edited. The third images I
had a go at creating a black and white that wasn't
completely black and white I aimed for a black and white
with just enough colour to know whats what. I did not like
this in the end and actually preferred the original image.
The final photo I actually think I did a really good job on the
images brightness was changed and I used some levels and
colour corrections to make the photo look a lot more
pleasing. This is the favourite of the images.
11. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
– In my final product I will be using the same tools as I have used in all of
these experiments I will carry over design, product design and editing.
I will be using roughly the same techniques however I now know
better what works and what does not. Because of being able to
practise these specific skills I will be a lot more prepared in my final
design. I would say especially with image editing I have really learnt a
lot from these experiments as I have found new techniques I did not
know about to make the different aspects of the photos better. Next
time I would of liked to experiment combining images with design and
logos with text.
