2. What am I producing?
I will be producing a factual copy which will act as a guide to the PlayStation Vita portable gaming system.
This guide would cover what functions the console comes equipped with (things such as the dual
analogue sticks and the rear touch screens) and would also go into some detail about the preloaded apps
on it. If I find out that I have more room in the booklet, I will include a list of the most popular games that
have been released on the console thus far and mention some of the new arrivals coming in the upcoming
months of 2016 if there is still room left to write on.
3. Why am I producing it?
I am going through with this idea rather than the others because it is something that interests me and I
own this particular console meaning that it will be very easy to acquire photographs and information for the
booklet. I also want to go through with this idea because I believe that the Vita has almost completely
flown under the radar due to the release of more popular and anticipated consoles, making this booklet
might just make more people take notice of this portable system.
4. Any existing examples that I can draw inspiration from?
I will be able to draw inspiration from many of the PlayStation articles which are either found online or in
magazines. The inspiration that I will be able to draw from articles will be things like the colours and fonts
that I should use for my final design. I will also be able to draw inspiration from the quick start manual
which comes with the console, from this I will be able to take away the type of language that I shall use
when it comes time to write my own article and what.
5. Intended target audience
The main target audience for something such as this would be made up of mainly males between the
ages of 16 and 24, this will be because the majority of the games on the system are meant to be played
by people over the age of 16. This would also be the age range because typically people who are between
these ages are more likely to be interested in playing with video game consoles. My secondary target
audience will be made up of both genders between the ages of 25-40, this will be because the parents of
these children who are interested in the console will be able to understand the basics of it and how to set it
up.
6. How will I interpolate the intended audience?
The language register that I am planning on using will be inclusive so that everybody can understand what
the guide is attempting to put across. I will also be writing the article in an informal manner due to the fact
of the age range of my target audience might become bored of reading standard english. I will attempt to
make the article as a direct mode of address to make it more involved with the audience. I have planned
to use technical jargon throughout the article, this will be because I would assume that someone would
read this after purchasing the console. I also believe that I will be able to increase my target audience
more by simultaneously interpolating my secondary target audience (mentioned in a previous slide).
