2. What positive feedback have I got from my
peers, teachers and focus group?
I have had a range of feedback from my peers, teachers and focus group. I asked
for their advice throughout the creation of my music video and my ancillary task.
This has also helped me see things through the eyes of other people as well as
gain advice from a different perspective, not just my own.
It was really helpful to hear my audiences advice and give me confidence in what I
was creating as well as them agreeing with my idea’s and liking the style and
design I had chosen.
From my positive feedback I had learnt that my target audience likes unique and
noticeable designs, also interesting editing skills. For example, I did many overlays
of two clips in my music video, which is different to many videos. This helps show
its uniqueness and including this will keep my audience interested.
3. Here is an example of some negative feedback that I got from my peers, teachers
and target audience.
This is some feedback (the
majority positive) I got from my
peers and target audience
towards the back of my digipak, it
gave me feedback on what my
audience liked about my digipak
and if they thought it looked
professional. This gave me
confidence and an understanding
of what people like to see.
4. What negative feedback have I got from my
peers, teachers and target group.
I gained a range of feedback from my peers, teachers and target group. I showed
them my products such as my music video and my ancillary task. Even though
their feedback was negative it has helped me learn what needed to be done to
make my products even better and more professional looking, as well as
something my audience would want to watch or buy .
From gaining feedback throughout this project I have implemented my audiences
opinions and advice within the creations of my music video and my ancillary tasks,
this shows that I value their advice and they will be able to see the changes
themselves. This also creates a connection with the audience.
I am pleased that I got this feedback from my peers, teachers and target group as
with their advice I believe that I have created something to the best of my ability
and something that fits well with my genre as well as my target audience.
5. Here are some examples of some negative feedback that I got from my peers,
teachers and target audience .
This is some feedback from my
teacher. She watched my first
original draft of my music video
and told me certain features I
could changes to improve my
video and make it more
professional. I took her advice
changed what I was able to.
After making various
changes along the way.
Towards the end there
were less changes to be
made. For example, in the
image shown my audience
suggested that only the
font needed to be changed
on my poster.
6. How these comments may change how I work in the
future either in a group or individual
These comments have helped me understand what people look for and what
certain features are appealing to my particular audience. By learning this from my
music video and ancillary task, helps me know what I would need to include right
away for future projects.
In the future I will practice asking my audiences opinion first rather than
afterwards as having all the information from start will save time, this will save
having to change multiple things, once having created something. I used this
method a few times in this project, from surveys I created. However, I feel like it
would have been more effective if I would had used this throughout the creation
of the products rather than having to keep going back and changing a lot of the
features, to make it more suitable.
However, I think that in the future I will also carry on what I have been doing and
asking for feedback throughout the process, as well as before, as this helps me
stay on track and create something successful.
7. What the comments have taught me about the
process of producing and editing a music video
The comments have taught me that there are a lot of stages to making a music
video, as something you personally may like may not be the most effective to your
audience, which results in you having to compromise and changing parts of your
video.
It has also taught me that the comments are very crucial if you are wanting to create
a video that is for everyone and what they would like to see, not just what you
would like to see.
Another thing that it has taught me is, that the process in producing a music video
is very time consuming. You may think you are finished with your filming, however,
audiences may encourage you to film more to improve the video. This is also relates
to the editing, as that is the main area as to where an audience would ask you to
change certain things, to improve it.
