2. Script/Shooting Script:
With my product its unnecessary to make a dialogue script as I am intending to make a music video and I don’t plan on having
any skit/dialogue parts in this product.
Locations (identification; recces; limitations and risks, e.g. distance, access, cost and weather):
when filming my product I will asses the areas that I plan on filming in to make sure there are no hazards or if there are I will
make sure they are highlighted if I have any crew/equipment with me. I also intend to make sure that all the locations I shoot in
will be within a reasonable range so no crew/cast members have to travel an excessive distance, the locations I choose will also
be accessible for all cast/crew members along with all equipment. Another priority for my locations is to make sure there is no
cost involved when trying to get there for my cast/crew members and if so I will cover it and add it into my finance budget. If the
locations I plan on shooting are outside leaving equipment to be effected by weather I will make sure to double check the
weather forecast for the day of filming and also bring appropriate covers or other protective gear for the equipment.
Finance (equipment, transport, talent, crew, materials, facility hire):
During the production of my product I wont be needing any finances as I don’t have a budget or any expenses to go along with
my production. If any production expenses do occur when producing my music video I will go back and add the expenses into my
planning so I can keep my planning as accurate as possible.
Personnel (size of team; roles; skills and experience; resourcing; availability and costs):
The size of my team is very small and all/majority of planning, filming and editing will be done by me. This does add a lot of
pressure on me but I don’t need a big team or a cast to create my product, I feel like I have enough experience/knowledge to
produce this music video by myself as I have been studying editing techniques that I will utilise in production. I also have all
needed resources to produce the product as college are supplying me with all my equipment.
3. Time (deadlines, availability of equipment, availability of personnel, time scales for clearances): Time schedule will be tight on
this production, will give myself deadlines on when I need to complete task in order to maximise my time within post production.
Meetings (minutes of meeting/recorded):
I don’t need to schedule any meetings during my planning or production as I am making a solo project and if working with others
I will have all contact information necessary.
Facilities (production equipment, post-production equipment):
All of the facilities I am using will be provided by college, I will be sing a Sony 600D or 500D camera to shoot with and an iMac
with adobe premiere and adobe after effects to edit with. Unfortunately I will only have filming equipment for a limited time
when booking it out meaning I will have to utilise the time as efficiently as possible when I have the equipment. along with this
the editing equipment is on college grounds available 5 days a week from 9am to 4:30pm, because of this I will have to spend all
my time on college grounds when needing to edit as I don’t have the same resources off campus.
Storyboards:
I plan on creating story boards for my product and I plan on using those story boards to help allow me to visualise what I want to
go into my product, this will allow me to pin point where I should add certain shots, effects, transitions. By doing this it will give
me a draft plan ready for going into production and post production therefore making the tasks easier.
Materials (graphics, costumes and props):
When creating my product not many materials will be needed as I am not using any costumes or props, I plan on possibly using
some lighting equipment if needed and for aesthetics. This will also help me cut down on costs and also make the production a
lot more time efficient as I wont have to factor in costume/prop/makeup time.
4. Camera (Settings, framing; angle; movement; lighting; appropriate point of view):
When shooting I will be using a Cannon 50D or 40D, I will implement different camera angles and different techniques when
filming to add a more unique effect. I hope to use lighting to my advantage along with camera equipment like tripods or a
Steadicam.
Sound (including ambience & foley recordings)
I will be using mainly audio from the track of the artist therefore this will keep working on audio very simple during post
production. I also plan on using a non diegetic and diegetic sound where possible for instance you may hear the background of a
scene or the engine of a car, however the main focus will still be on the music.
Rushes Log –(Keep a record of all scenes/shots/takes you have recorded)
I will keep a rush log of all the scenes, shots and takes I have recorded. This will keep me up to date so I don’t lose track of what
shots need to be completed or re done. This will also help make the production process pass a lot quicker if I am organised.
Post-production (format, audio levels and transitions, jump cuts, transitions, colour correction, VFX etc.)
Post production will be the main part of my FMP as I will be spending the majority of my time editing the footage to make it
seem like an authentic music video, I will mainly Adobe Premiere and Adobe After effects to create my product. I will be
researching how to create the desired looks and effects I want and I will be continuously studying other editing techniques so I
can implement new and creative effects into my product. I plan on making my product a very fast paced video with lots of jump
cuts and unique transitions to keep the audience entertained and so the product doesn't drag on, my intended outcome of my
product should make the audience feel like they could watch it again. I plan on using a lot of 3rd party effects and transitions that
I will either create, source from the web or buy. I plan on doing this as the default effects in adobe premiere aren’t as creative or
abstract as some of the 3rd party effects or transitions. I will also plan on playing around with the audio such as adding track cuts
or audio distortion, I will play around with diegetic and non diegetic sound.
5. Manage (You are in charge! Control the situation in an appropriate manner)
Since I am working alone all of my management will focus on my own time meaning when in production and post production I
will set myself goals and tasks to be completed by certain deadlines in order for me to move onto the next task. By keeping my
time managed especially in post production I should hopefully have enough time to complete any previous or further existing
tasks.
6. The camera will then zoom into the TV
and open up into a 16:9 ratio shot. A
paper rip effect will occur which folds
back together.
The start of my product will open up with a
shot of a TV with tv static and then open up
into a sequence of shots using lots of quick
cuts.
Quick cuts of multiple shots with
abstract effects.
Video cut out to vhs tape being ejected and
re played. Video cuts back in and pixel
sorting effect on footage.
Screen zooms out and goes
back into tv and end credits
roll.
7. Colour schemes/fonts/style sheet (consider potential ideas and choices for your production- explain choices and consider
alternatives):
I don’t plan on using a colour scheme for my product as I will be adding lots of colorful shots, effects ad transitions. However I do
plan on adding an almost day and night type of effects by starting my product off wit shots in the daylight and it progressions into
shots at night to symbolise the ending of the music.
8. Layout Plans (using existing images and chosen fonts and colours quickly draft up a copy of what your work could look like)
