5. The red and white colour scheme is o
represent blood as the film is quite
violent. In the movie poster the whole
cast are being shown walking down
the street together all dressed in black
suits which is suggesting that they are
organised criminals. The poster is
filtered in black and white to show
that the film is perhaps dramatic and
violent. The location is based in an
urban setting which yet again may
represent the hint of crime and
violence.
6. The color scheme is dark to
convey the characters emotion
and the overall mood of the film.
We get from the army uniform
and barrel of the tank that this
film is set in world war 2 which
links back to the color scheme as
the environment allows the
props to blend in to the
background. From the color
scheme and the way the actor is
positioned and his expressions
we can get the impression that
this film is dark and dramatic.
7. The poster is coloured in dark shades which
is used to suggest that the film is dramatic
and dark. The film title is coloured a bold red
which is used to represent the violence and
death.
Two of the character in the poster a men
holding guns. The use of these props is to
suggest the violent theme of the film. The
clothes are old fashioned to resemble the
time period that the film is set in1 (1920s)
The location is a mountainous terrian with a
dramatic skyline. The location is used to get
an idea of what environment the film is
based in.
The actors and actresses are shown in a way
that hints on the relationships between the
characters.
8. Soundtrack
• Clip 1 The first audio sounds as though it
has been taken from a horror or drama as
it sounds very suspenseful. The
connotation that the audio creates with
the image given is perhaps the man may
have been caught doing something he
shouldn’t be doing and that he she be
worried about the co-worker stood
behind him.
• Clip 2 The second audio sounds as though
it has been taken from a fantasy or
romance which suggests that the man
may be happy and in love with the co-
worker stood behind him.
9. Shining
The background music has been changed to upbeat and joyful
music and the editor has taken all the positive clips of the film
and merged them together. The merging of clips and audio
makes the trailer appear as though the film is positive and
romantic.
10. Scary Mary
In the second clip Mary Poppins is made to look like a horror film
as clips have been taken from the film that con be considered
scary once the clips have been edited with dark filters and
suspenseful music. The clips used have also had scary audio
dubbed over them and the trailer with both dark filters and
suspenseful music make a trailer of a film that looks quite the
opposite of what Mary Poppins is actually like.
