My magazine is called Rap Weekly
Audience:

Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
My audience for this magazine is going to be straight male teenagers aged 15-24. This is because
there are more males than females that are interested and that listen to hip-hop / rap and aged 15-
24 because the age group that are most interested in hip-hop / rap and don’t just listen to it
however are interested within the hip-hop culture and they watch interviews of their favourite artists
as well as listening to the music. I also aim it at straight males because most rappers tend to rap
about girls so this would be a interest for straight men. I would also aim my magazine at the social
grade C1, B and A on the on the NRS Social grades

What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Throughout the year I have made progress such with the advergame. As the advergame was
designed using Photoshop this has helped my knowledge and understanding of the software which
is going to help me with this projects when creating the magazines. One main skill I have acquired
has been layering the layers so that I know what I is going to be visible and what isn’t. this will
have a direct impact within my work because I will be able to layer things in my magazine and
have the main artist in front of the masthead for example

What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
The concept for my project is to make a magazine cover and a double page spread. Ive
decided to make a hip-hop / rap magazine. I will make a rap magazine cover and then a
double page where I will either write about the artist or include a interview. I will have to
look at other hip-hop / rap magazinesfor my research and write about the conventions of
the magazinesand what I should include in mine so that my magazine looks like a authentic
hip-hop / rap magazine

How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation (Production
Reflections) and your final self-reflection (Evaluation), analysing your work and its outcomes.
How will this process help developing your working practices as you continue with your
study/media career?
When I’m evaluating my work I’m going to screenshot my progression of my work. This will help
me in my evaluation as I will be able to say what worked well and what didn’t’ and I can talk about
what I did and what I didn’t do as well as I can talk about if something didn’t work and I can use the
screenshots to show what I was going to do and then show a screenshot and say it didn’t work so I
used an alternative and did something else . When analysing my work I will talk about my thoughts
and feelings throughout the project so I will talk about why I used what colours and I will talk about
how I have positioned something on the page and what effect on the audience this has. The
process of this will help my media study / career because in the future it will make me think more
about my work and think more about why I’m doing what I’m doing and I will be able to discuss the
effect it has on the audience and automatically think about all of this as I will become use to doing
