Project proposal title and date:
My product is called Infactuated, a book. 9th March 2021.
Main area of activity:
The medium that I will mostly work in is Graphic Design.
Rationale:
This year I have made a music video which used my video editing skills but also made me learn
how to overlay videos and blend them seamlessly into one another. I also have made a magazine
cover, a billboard advertisement and an animation to promote a movie idea that I had created.
When creating the magazine cover and billboard advertisement, it used my photoshop skills, and
also helped me learn how to create contrast between two photos and making me find different text
effects that help make the title stand out. When creating the animation, it used my video editing
skills, pixel art drawing skills and animating skills on photoshop. When creating the animation, I
learnt how to make a background and how to create pixel art people better than when I had
created back in 2018-19. I also learnt how to use sound effects on my editing application.
Project Concept:
The concept of my project is a romance novel, and I will be creating a book sleeve, back, front and
sides. I will also be creating a synopsis about the book, a poster advertisement, and (possibly) a
trailer for it, using mostly my own clips; if I have enough time to do so. Research that I will need to
conduct my project would be creating mood boards, finding suitable fonts to use in all projects,
finding filters to use as inspiration and looking into other book covers of popular authors like Anna
Todd or E.L James. For the trailer research, I would investigate existing romance novel trailers (if
they even exist) on YouTube and take note of the vibes and the aesthetic that it holds, as it needs
to be visually pleasing for the viewer to continue watching. It also helps me learn on how much
information needs adding into the trailer, as adding too much would practically ruin the point of it.
Also in research, I would find out what entices the audience to be intrigued by similar products and
see what I can create whilst also ensuring that I follow the audience research. These research
tactics will help make my project as it will help ensure that the products that are going to be made,
appeal to the right audience and also helps me make the products as perfect as possible.
How will the project be evaluated and reviewed:
I plan to evaluate and review my work by going through Production-Reflection and also analyse
the work to ensure that all ideas created are my own. I will also ensure that none of the content
that I create won’t offend anyone/anything. This process will help develop my working practices as
it teaches me to make sure that all ideas that I create are my own, as this can cause issues with
copyright once published.
