1. Editing Updates
During the editing process we were overall very successful in making a fluent film opening
that engaged with the audience. We tried to allocate particular jobs to certain members of
the group so that we could complete the editing to the best of our abilities. Laura did the
main base of the editing as she was the strongest editors. Amy was in charge of creating the
main titles for the film on Photoshop, such as the studio logo and film name. Katherine had
the job of making the addition titles such as the producer and cast. Although everyone
contributed the more technique elements of the editing, giving their opinions and applying
the skills and knowledge that we learned.
However, we came across some problems during the editing stage that we needed to
address, these included the sound of some of the footage sue to the mice not being plugged
in properly. We also had to adjust the lighting for some of the videos as they were recorded
at different times throughout the day so there was an inconsistency in the lighting. Here is
how we approached these problems;
As seen above the sound is not very good for the video of Lucy answering the phone which
was a major problem as this was one of the main parts of the opening. In order to change
this we re-recorded the sound using an MP3 recorded so that we could swap it with the
other sound. We decided to use the scream from the original video as the sound for that
was not effected as shown below.
2. As I mentioned earlier the lighting was inconsistent in some of the videos due to the time
diference during recorsing.
In order to fix this we added a video special effect so that the first image would not be as
bright. We used the effect Sony HSL Adjust as seen below with the new lighting numbers
that we thought created the best lighting.
3. We also added extra layers of sound into our vidoe such as the engin of the car and the
sound of the wind/ trees so that it was consistent throught the whole opening.
As well as editng the video we also needed to make the title for our media product. We did
this on Photoshop and created several different titles and logos so that we could choose
which one was our favourite.
4. We then added a simple backgroud to our chosen studio logo to give it more depth.
