2. The Beach (Arcades)
Shots Needed
Old couple playing on grab machine
Boyfriend winning her a teddy bear
Range of jump shots of couple playing on
games
Problems and how we overcame them
When it came we faced a major problem
being that we were unable to film any
shots within the arcades due to legal
reasons.
Therefore, we had to re think a whole
scene, we came up with the idea to film
the couple playing mini golf instead.
We were able to quickly think of shots that
we could use instead.
3. Beach (Sand Castle)
Shots needed
Old couple building a small sand castle
New couple building a bigger sand castle
Old couples sand castle getting destroyed.
Problems faced how they were overcome
There were not initial problems faced while
filming however we decided to shoot some
extra shots that weren't planed as we were
concerned that we wouldn’t have enough
content.
The extra shots that we got were the old
couple eating ice cream on the sea front
and the new couple writing their names
into the sand.
4. Laura’s House (Boys bedroom)
Shots Needed
Artist performing the song on bed
Old couple arguing, then making up
Old couple brake up, girl packs her bags and
leaves
Shot of photos on window sill
Shot of empty window
Problems faced, how they were overcome
The room was very small so it was hard to
get a good angle of the artist playing the
guitar and also the argument which
overlapped with the artist on the bed.
We had to adapt some of the original shots
or move some furniture so that they could
be achieved.
5. Laura’s House (Christmas Tree)
Shots needed
Girl and ex boyfriend decorating an small
tree together.
Shot of girl reaching into the box of
decorations for transition.
Girl and new boyfriend decorating a bigger
tree.
Problems faced, how they were overcome
We didn’t really face any problems whist
filming these shots, apart from finding it
difficult to have the tree framed properly in
the shot with the actors as well.
We also chose to dress the girl in the same
clothes in each shot because we thought it
would be a nice transition and also create
questions for the audience.
6. Tealby
Shots Needed
New couple walking into the pub
New couple drinking and laughing on a
date
Close up of girl laughing
Ex couple walking past each other on the
street
Problems faced, how they were overcome
When we reached the pub it was about to
rain so we had to film the outside date very
quickly so that it wouldn’t look out of place
and so the camera would get wet.
We also found it quite difficult to film the ex
couple crossing each other on the path
because it meant that the camera person
had to be on the road, therefor we kept
having to move to avoid cars coming
through the villate
7. Living Room
Shots needed
Girl Looking out the window
Girl crying on sofa
Girl telling sister to leave her alone
Problems faced, how they were overcome
We didn’t really face any major problems
whilst filming this scene, we achieved all of
the intended shots successfully.
The most challenging part of this filming
was creating believable and clear emotions
within the characters without it looking
over the top.
8. Girls Bedroom
Shots needed
Girl looking though photo album at old
pictures of them as a couple.
Girl ripping up one of the pictures of the
old couple together.
Problems faced, how they were overcome
It was very difficult to achieve a good angle
and framing from behind the Molly sat on
the bed, to solve this we had to take the
camera off the tripod and film the ripping of
the photo freehand.
The lighting was also not very good
however to overcome this we will have to
apply a filter during the editing.
