1. Q6.What have you learnt about technologies from the process of
constructing this product?
By Katherine Wiles
2. What technologies have you used?
TECHNOLOGY
Creative
Commons/Sound Cloud
Final Cut Pro
Flip Camera TimeToast
BloggerCamera
Prezi Motion Audio Converter
3. How were they used?
• Camera – The camera was used to film all the
footage for our film opening. We used the
camera to shoot all the establishing shots for
the opening scene including the footage in
which the characters are travelling to the main
location. The camera was also used to film the
voice over for the opening scene.
• Production Stage - Filming
4. How were they used?
• Final Cut Pro – Final Cut pro was used to edit all our footage from
filming for the opening scene of the film. We used final cut pro for a
number of things including editing, sound, titles and effects. After
the footage was uploaded onto final cut pro my group and I chose
which pieces of footage we were not going to use in the film. For
example clips in which the camera is not steady or if the actor has
messed up a line. Once all the right footage has been cut and put
into the right order we focused on adding sound from creative
commons onto the sequence. We used final cut pro to adjust the
length and volume of the music and then place it into the scene.
After all that has been achieved we focused on adding the title
sequence for the film which was also done on final cut pro.
• Production Stage - Editing
5. How were they used?
• TimeToast- TimeToast was used when we were in
the planning and research stages of our teen film.
We used TimeToast for the title sequence. First
we looked at other teen films to see what order
their title sequence was in we then put our own
order own TimeToast before posting it on the
blog. We used TimeToast so that we did not mess
up the order of the titles when it came to editing.

6. Usefulness and Creativity
• Camera
• The Camera was very useful as it aloud us to get the footage we
needed for our film opening. It also was useful as we were able to
shot any extra footage such as the voice over and also any behind
the scenes clips.
• For Creativity we used a number of different shot types and
movements to try and make a specific effect. For example when
the characters first hear the alarm and they are all sort of frozen
for a second we used a number of different shots close-ups
mainly to show there emotions at this specific moment. Also at
the end on the scene there is a shot of both El and Grace banging
on the door trying to escape and the camera is handheld and the
camera person is slowly moving backwards. The use of the
handheld creates the idea that people can see them but will not
help them.
7. Usefulness and Creativity
• TimeToast was
very useful also as
it allowed us to get
the orders of the
titles. Also by
keeping it in the
right order it helps
show that the film
is more
professional.
Final Cut Pro – With creativity
final cut pro was very useful.
With different techniques we
were able to change the idea
of a character just through
the editing. For example
when we first see the
character El we get the use of
fast pace editing which helps
show that the character is
very unorganized and also in
a rush.
