CAFC Chronicles: Costly Tales of Claim Construction Fails
Target audience
1. Target Audience
Crime Mystery/Thriller genre
from my research and prior knowledge I have found that
mystery/ thriller films in general appeal to both genders. I
have made this statement due to the fact that this genre of
film contains an intellectual element as opposed to the
cheap thrills and action that can be found within many
action films that are stereotypically aimed at a majority male audience.
Ethnicity: from the research that I have conducted I believe that this
genre of film will appeal to a wide and diverse ethnic range due to
the fact that my filmis being produced in Britain. As a result of this
the film itself will be exposed to a large multicultural country in
which people of all different kinds of backgrounds will have the
chance to view my film. In contrast to this there is the fact that the
audience who choose to view this film will be partially dependant on
the actors who star in the filmand in relation to ethnicity the cultural
background of the actors.
from the research I have acquired there wasn’t an overall
indication as to which social class my genre of film would appeal
to the most. However from the knowledge I was able to obtain,
and partly through my own intuition I was able to deduce that
my genre of filmwould appeal to a social standing who are
more educated in general due to the nature of the content of
mystery/ thriller films. With regard to the latter point I am
referring to the complex narrative structure of mystery/thriller
films that is designed not only to draw audiences in but also to
stimulate their own intellect. Furthermore I believe that this genre of filmwill appeal to a
more educated audience given that this genre of film usually uses complex techniques in
order to garner a certain look (i.e. the use of cinematography within a film), and element
such as this would only be apparent to an educated audience.
