3. When choosing a colour palette for a website or product it is
important for those colours to be able to compliment your
brand and eventually to be recognisable as your brand, an
example, Netflix, Spotify and Twitter being recognizable for
Red, Green and Blue respectively. When choosing the
potential colours for The Grid i found it important to choose
a palette that isn’t immediately recognisable as another
brand while keeping the colourful and approachable vibe i
want The Grid to have.
5. fonts…again
When choosing the fonts we decided to go for very sharp and angular looking
fonts as they can represent the boxy feel of the grid. We ended up settling on the
“platinum sign” font as it still keeps very angular but allows more options when it
comes to colour and overall variations
6. Refinement
We initially attempted to use the Wrong
Delivery font with the idea of using a
glitched effect featuring the colours we had
gathered from the colour scheme page,
before trying a legitimate glitched effect
(bottom left). Ultimately, we decided on the
logo that uses the multi-coloured text of
Platinum Sign.
