The document discusses font options for titles in a music video. The author tested several fonts in their editing software to introduce the artist and song. They provide ratings and analysis for each font option, considering factors like thickness, simplicity, legibility over footage, and whether the font fits the R&B genre and vision for the video. Their favorite option is a font with strong, stylish letters that can be displayed across two lines to fill the screen and look striking as a title.
2. In my music video I will use titles to show the artists name and title of the
song.
Through the process of music video analysis I discovered that fonts are not
always used. However, I have decided for mine that I will use them to help
introduce the artist and song. I think they add a extra element of creativity
and branding to the video.
This introduction of branding will help it link to the website and digi-pak to
enhance the corporate identity of the product.
Using my editing software, Premiere Pro, I looked at a variety of fonts that I
could use. I narrowed down the options to a number of my favourite and
which ones seem most suitable for the vision I'm after.
I can decide on a final font when I am in post production and make a final
decision of which fonts suits the look the most.
3. OPTION 1
I like the thickness of this font. The letters are strong and solid in shape. I
turned the opacity down on this font to make the colour more subtle. This
keeps the colour scheme up but makes it less vibrant and an overall softer
image.

4. OPTION 1
For this font, I prefer the letters in lower case compared to capitals. I think
the this font is to harsh in shape and doesn't really match the music genre I
am making this for. The R&B genre will need a more stylish font compared
to this that has softer edges and more visually appealing.

5. OPTION 1
I like the simplicity of this font. By altering the kerning (spacing between
letters) I discovered the closer the letters, the more it looks like a logo for
the artist. However, in terms of credits in the video - I like the wider spacing
between the letters. The second option down is my favourite on this page.

6. OPTION 1
The best option on this page in the centre one. I don’t like the look of the
angled title as it seems to alternative to the look I am after, which is a stylish
but sticking title. This font however may be difficult to be seen over any
footage that I film due to me using bright artificial lighting equipment.

7. OPTION 1
This option is similar to the previous font however it is filled with a faint grey
fill. However, I think this option is too dull to be seen over any footage. This
would not come across as striking or clear and could possibly not be seen.

8. OPTION 1
I chose this font as it has a strong, unique look about it compared to the
rest. I had the idea of branding in mind when I saw this as it is very
recognisable. However, the font itself is very thin which doesn't make it
ideal to use for this project.

9. OPTION 1
I really like the shape of these letters. I much prefer this font in capitals. It has
the strong, stylish and striking look I am after. I think by having the name on 2
separate lines are it means it fills more of the screen and the writing can be
larger. I think this font is perfect for the video and fits the brief I am after.
