1. Personal Logo Project
Symbols are a great way to say a lot with a little.
A symbol is an object that represents, stands for, or suggests an idea, visual image, belief,
action, or material entity. For example, a red octagon may be a symbol for "STOP". On a map, a
picture of a tent might represent a campsite. - wikipedia
Your task for this project is to create your own personal logo, like Larry does in The Gospel (see
pg. 37 for reference). The purpose for this assignment is to demonstrate your understanding of
symbolism by choosing at least four (4) symbols that represent you and your values. These
symbols should be creatively joined together to create a personal logo.
For example, Larry's symbols are all inside a giant peace sign, which shows us that what he
values most is peace for all.
After you have created your logo, you must write a paragraph that explains why you chose the
symbols you did. Remember, a paragraph is anywhere from five (5) to seven (7) sentences, and
you should include a proper introductory sentence.
For example: In my logo, I drew all of my symbols inside of a Canadian flag because I think that
this is the core part of my identity.
