3. How big are the advertisements?
The advertisements Double page spread that is being shown on the previous slide
is of a new film yet to be released. The advertisement’s purpose is to cause
attention to the Spiderman films therefore size is key. If a small approach is
foreseen for portraying such a worldwide superhero film, the film will go un
noticed or seen as not important. The bugger the better especially when trying to
presents a spectacular film. For example, in this DPS, the inserts of the spread
such as the main image is presented with a large amount of consideration when it
comes to size. The image takes up the entire right hand side of the page.
Colour?
The use of colour in this DPS clearly represents a dedicating scheme but not only
that, the colours are a positive compliment to the spread. For instance, the blue
background appearing from behind the title ‘new films’. This is intentionally
included to reveal a highlighting effect allowing the title to stand out.
Layout?
Like many film/documentary based double page spread’s, the layout is common
and popular. The left hand side pf the DPS shows pure text with adds of colour to
allow the vital information to stand out. The opposing side of the DPS on the
other hand contains the strong image of Spiderman. This is effectively laid out so
that they compliment each other.
4. The type of language being used?
The type of language used is for those that have an interest in the spider man
films but also attracting use of language is considered to persuade those wider
varieties of audiences that have not yet watched the films. The language in this
DPS is a great example of how the categories of audiences are targeted.
The space used?
Thee space used is of a sufficient amount as is a DPS should be, for example there
are certainly mo signs of any un necessary blanks that could be potentially filled.
Every areas across the magnificent layout of the spread is used to catch the eyes
of audiences.
The type of headlines?
The type of headline here is too simple, ‘SPIDER-MAN 2’. The headline lacks in the
following key areas: Size and colour. The header is the first insert that any viewer
searches for to read for it introduces the entire topic that the DPS is trying to sell
to audiences. Also colour, black on a white back ground. It is clearly visible due to
the mix of the two opposite colours however the headline looks nothing more than
blended in text. As an example, tt requires a highlighting affect to allow the
headline to stand out.
5. What does the DPS inform you of the topic?
The DPS informs audiences of the topic through the use of the conventions
considered. For example, the main image clearly visible due to it’s size, that
alone releases the purpose of the DPS which is to allow audiences to witness that
there is a new superhero film about to be released.
