For Those in Peril Case Study
1.
2. Production Company
The film is produced by Warp Films, an
independent production company from
Sheffield, UK. The film aims to produce quality
film rather than selling in large quantity.
3. Funding
The film was also funded by Warp Films. The film
was funded a low budget of just £2mil, compared
to Hollywood films like The Great Gatsby, which
was budgeted £80mil. In comparison, this is a
very low budget film.
4. Distribution - UK
The film was distributed by Film 4, who are a
British company that specialise in releasing high
quality films for artistic reasons, much alike Warp
do.
7. Director
The film was directed by a British director named
Paul Wright, who has previously made a few
artistic pieces. He shares very similar values to
Warp and Film 4 in this way.
8. Actors
Actors featured are not celebrities, and are all a
low-paid cast. This is due to the low budget
meaning non-recognisable faces would be the
best option for the role, unlike a hollywood
production that could afford A list celebs.
10. Promotion
The film had reasonably low promotion, such
as adverts on the film 4 channel and on it’s
website. The film did not have any adverts aired
on prime tv unlike hollywood productions might.
11. Genre
The genre of the film is a drama, which for low
budget, british films, is very conventional as it is
something that does not require high budgets or
special fx etc.
