2. WARP FILMS
Warp Films is an independent film production and distribution
company based in Sheffield. I believe that this may be a suitable
distributor for our film as we do not necessarily require a large
budget to film with. Warp have proved to be successful in the
past, producing critically acclaimed films such as ‘This Is
England’ and ‘Four Lions’ on budgets below that of £3 million.
Warp Films also create a number of comedic-based films such as
‘Submarine’ and the aforementioned ‘Four Lions’, thus Warp
can be considered to have expertise in our chosen genre.
3. SCREEN GEMS
Screen Gems is an American film distributor. This company may
be a suitable supplier of our film due to it’s success with films of
a similar nature and genre, namely that of, Guy Ritchie’s 2000
movie, ‘Snatch’. Screen Gems also do not necessarily require an
exponential budget to be used, producing a variety of films
below the $10 million mark throughout the years, attaining
immense success both critically and financially with films such
as ‘Don’t Breathe’ and ‘Easy A’, both of which were made on a
sub-10-million-dollar budget.
4. STUDIOCANAL UK
(FORMERLY OPTIMUM RELEASING)
StudioCanal UK, (formerly known as Optimum Releasing)
would be an immeasurably good choice as a distribution
company for our film ‘Misplaced’. The company has proven to be
extremely profitable and also has experience in producing
crime-comedy films such as ‘Hot Fuzz’ and ‘Four Lions’, in
conjunction with other distributors such as Warp Films.
StudioCanal UK, as a British company would ideally respect the
anglocentric nature of the film as a result of this, leading to a
happy working relationship for both parties.
