Audience and institution Film
The issues raised in the targeting of national and local audiences (specifically British) by international or global institutions. Translation: show you know how international and global institutions target a national and local British audiences. Brief notes: working title owned by universal Compare mainstream and independent
mainstream Bigger budget, so they can use better actors, better technology which will create a better film, better exhibition of the film so it will reach a wide audience. And the new technology will also help make better viewing so more people will want to watch the film as it may be “one of a kind”. Avatar hit a big audinece using synergy market with Pepsi to advertise there film. Whereas films like green zone which have been created by independent film makers haven't had as much exhibition on the TV therefore people are less likely to know about it.
Working title Are a conglomerate of universal so two thirds of the company is owned by universal and only one third is British. Therefore they will have a big budget, not as big as a Hollywood film but because universal are successful they are able generate enough money to give working title a successful name. The soloist which was made by working title did not succeed to expectations and did not make enough money. The impact of it not reaching expectations is not as bad as if it was a warp films production as they have the money, whereas warp films don't have a big budget and can't afford any of there films to flop.
Warp films Are an independent film company who have a very low budget and have to use raw materials to make there film work and to save money. It was a successful film winning a BAFTA in 2008. and has been nominated for other awards since 2006. This is England, considering it was very low budget and not much investment was put into it, it made a staggering £1,315,000 in the box office which is great for a film that's genre is British social realism. In the US it made $315,000 which for a British made film is substantial as usually British films in America are not as big as American made but This is England touches many subjects such as immigration and racism.
