Social groups
1. How does your media
product represent particular
social groups?
2. Class
My media product is targeted towards the
working class, i have represented this
through the characters mannerisms and
the way he is dressed, with his fingerless
gloves, which are usually associated with
people of little wealth
Taxi driver/ ghost - scrooged
Homeless man - Trading
places
3. Age
The age rating for my film is 15 and is intended for people aged 15 or older, i
decided to use an old character for my film as for people who are older would be
able to relate to him more but also he is used as someone teenages might whatb
to aspire to be like when they get old, this coupled with the young sounding voice
coming from the radio gives the audience an insight of that it's not primarily
dominated by the older generation.
With the old character appearing to be on his own, it supports the stereotype of
old people are lonely this is shown through all the pictures he has and the uneaten
fruit.
4. Gender
The character in my film is male, and
he can be seen as masculine through
him wearing dark clothes, typically in
films, characters wear dark clothes to
be more intimidating, however this
challenges it, as the character in my
film seems to be more timid, therefore
less manly The Matrix character in dark clothes
