Question 2
1. QUESTION 2: HOW DOES YOUR
MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT
PARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS
Phoebe Rajput – Evaluation
2. HOW MY ACTORS ARE
POSED/DRESSED
• In my film opening my main characters are represented as the stereotypical ‘good
guys’. Dressed up suits, you can see that
they are here for an important reason which
tells the audience that these men have a serious
job to take care of. They needed to be in suits to
show that it’s a professional job.
3. My actors here in this scene are being made to look like
they are analysing the dead body on the floor to create
a murder scene for my audience. I had one male back-
ground actor dressed in a blue body suit to make him
look like he knows what he’s doing, same for the female
actress who is wearing smart clothes and holding a
clipboard ‘taking notes’. This could appeal to an older
social group as my characters are dressed formally.
As the camera shows Brian the boss in the middle of the two
detectives, it shows he has authority as he is in the centre of
attention. Also as he is the only male actor in a different tie
(Christmas tie) it pulls him apart from everyone else making
him individual.
4. TARGET AUDIENCE
• My target audience was going to have an age group ranging from 15-25 years old,
this is because the younger generation would not understand the storyline and
humour of the film. My target audience could relate to my characters with their lives,
funny situations and personalities.
• Due to my viewers being a similar age as my characters, I feel like thats why my
target audience would relate to them so much.
5. GENDER
My cast is predominantly all male, there is one female actress but that
is only because the other
people I had asked were unable to attend so were
therefore unable to take part. My main characters are represented as
sociable, approachable people. For example that is how most young
men are presented in films. For my props I used a hat and sunglasses
which shows how they are in their young age and what they are
stereotypically likely to wear.
6. SEXUALITY
The sexuality i have portrayed in my film is
heterosexual. This is because it is a traditional
‘lads’ film. This can only be seen when my main
me characters talk about the female character as
they ‘fancy’ her. This confirms the stereotype that
men are seen as masculine and have to win over
the girl.
