The document provides an analysis of magazine covers, contents pages, and double page spreads from the perspective of the author's target audience of females aged 16-25. Key points include:
1) For the magazine cover, the author prefers a consistent layout that features a studio photography shoot rather than paparazzi photos to look more professional.
2) The contents page should feature only a few photos with page numbers and headings to help readers easily find content, and color should be added for visual interest.
3) The double page spread will feature a full-page image on one side and columns of text from an interview on the other to introduce readers to artists featured in the magazine.
4) Research
2. Textual Analysis of Front Cover of x10 Magazines From what I have learned about the front covers is that I personally like how every issue of the magazine will look the same, or have a similar layout. I believe that this will help the audience and new audience to become familiar with the magazine. I think that having an sticker like text and saying that there is a free product included will gain a wider niche audience. I also prefer the studio shoot photography more than a photo which looks like as if a paparazzi has taken the photograph. I believe that the photo and the whole magazine will look more professional and neater. I believe that to attract my target audience I will do these kind of techniques because I fall within the target audience that I will target my magazine towards.
3. Textual Analysis of Contents page of x10 Magazines I think that having only a few photos in my contents page is better than having a range of photos. I also think that the number pages should be included with a small heading for each of the texts, this will help the reader to see and follow the information that they wants to read a bit easier than having to look thought the whole magazine and search for what they wanted to find. I also believe hat the text should not only be black and white but add colour, other wise the contents page can be seen as dull and not quirkily. I will have a clear title of to say contents page features. Also I think that having columns and categories in the contents page will make it look better and more organised.
4. Textual Analysis of Double Page Spread of x10 Magazines I will want my double page spread to contain of an image which will be on one side of the whole page, but I will also have a the other side of the magazine with columns and text of an interview. The reason why I think that my double page spread will be an interview is because I think that my target audience will enjoy reading this because it allows them to become familiar with the artist that is in the front of the magazine.
5. Research Question Asked Towards My Target Audience These are a few question that I asked a few people who are within the target audience of what I will have. I asked ten question that I though would help me to find out how I can get the best out of my magazine. The question was answered by only females as this is the gender of what the magazine will mostly be focused towards. All of the questions and answers will be considered when I produce my actual and final product of the magazine. To get the target audience that I wanted which is teens from the ages of 16-25 (females), I asked people from the college and people outside college which where the older people over the ages of 18 years old.
6. What I Have Learned, And What I will Do For My Music Magazine I have learned that most people prefer the front cover of the magazine to have a neat and organised look. A variety of people has said that they want a variety of different layouts and styles per issue, and other said that they want every issue to look similar sot hat they are linked with each other. Therefore, for my final product I will have a magazine front cover that will concentrate more on the photo and have a bit of text to show what will be included in the magazine. The photo will be a long to medium shot of an model who will be represented as being a pop singer. The mast head will have a sophisticated and quirky look to catch the audience and to make the magazine more attractive. My double page spread I think will be an interview of the singer that is on the front of the magazine. From what I saw from the answered question was that they think that most people in my target audience prefer reading interviews and stories.
