When looking into genre planning we decided as a group we wanted to work in a genre that we
all enjoyed and knew try quite well pre to any textual analysis. So because of this we decided to
work in the genre dance/electric
Genre
Planning
Early on in the video planning we
had to decide if we were going to
challenge or represent dance music
video conventions.
Because we wanted to make a good
video we thought it would be easier
and more simple if we stuck to the
conventions of the dance/electric
music video genre.
By ‘sticking to dance music
video conventions’ I mean
following trends that happen
in most/lots of the music
videos we looked at in the
dance genre. For example in
our video we decided to
include part of Goodwin’s
theory through a link
between the music and they
visuals and the visuals an the
lyrics, because this happened
in almost all the dance music
videos we looked into.
