2. Abstract:-
In our modern society education system are rapidly changing in the various ways.
Leaners can develop own self for the modification of curriculum needs and
society needs .here I can introduce different dimension of Guidance and
Counselling. counseling and guidance, the process of helping individuals discover
and develop their educational, vocational, and psychological potentialities and
thereby to achieve an optimal level of personal happiness and social usefulness.
In this study I collected information from various articles, Wikipedia, slide share,
internet, books etc. This study I discussed definition of counseling and guidance,
characteristics of counseling and guidance, difference between counseling and
guidance, needs of counseling and guidance for learners. Type of counseling and
guidance, and I also discussed self concept on counseling and guidance.

4. Introduction
Guidance counseling, by name counseling and guidance, the process of
helping individuals discover and develop their educational, vocational, and
psychological potentialities and thereby to achieve an optimal level of
personal happiness and social usefulness. The concept of counseling is
essentially democratic in that the assumptions underlying its theory and
practice are, first, that each individual has the right to shape his own destiny
and, second, that the relatively mature and experienced members of
the community are responsible for ensuring that each person’s choice shall
serve both his own interests and those of society.
5. Definition of guidance :
'Guidance’-To guide.= Controlling ,Instruct
According to Jones- “Guidance is the help
given by one person to another person in
making choices, adjustment and in solving
problems.”
6. Definition of counselling:
According to Carl-Rogers- “Counselling is a
series of direct contact with the individual which
aims to offer him assistance in changing his
attitude and behavior.”
‘Counselling’-To counsel= Suggestion
7. Characteristics of guidance :
It help individual to recognize and use his/ her inner
resources
a) To set goals
b) To make plans,
c) To work out his own problems of development.
Choice and problem point are distinctive concerns.
Assistant to the individuals in the process of
development rather then the direction of
development.
Generalized and Specialized service
Guidance is centered around the needs and
aspirations of students.
10. Needs for guidance:
To help them understand the purpose ad meaning of life.
To help to avoid potential dropouts to study in school.
To diagnose the difficulties in the learning of basic skills.
To choose career in the different stages of learning.
To select right direction what is best.
To maintain the life properly.

Educational guidance.
Vocational guidance.
Social guidance.
Moral guidance.
Health guidance.
Personal guidance.

15. Self concepts of Guidance and
Counselling : -
Role of guidance and counselling is very essential for every one in our life. In
our day to day life, like my mother, father and teacher is providing guidance for
my daily life style. But we know that my father, mother and teacher not
certified counselor. But his persons is real for every learners children's.
Guidance is called as a safety valve and find the suitable way, for children or
learners. On the others hand counselling is that ,find out the problems and give
the suitable solutions for a particular problems.
Guidance or counselling like-
1.career or placement.
2.Research or evaluation.
3.Admission information.

16. Conclusion
At last part we are concluded that guidance
counselling has great role of every earners. Its also
impact on primary secondary and higher education
learners. Through the various process of guidance
and counselling learners gives various suggestions
and changing his/ her life and will be modified
behavior. Not only learning of skills and knowledge
related directly to the world on which the student lives but
also learning related to hid 'Inner world 'that is an
increased understanding of self.
