MAGAZINE EVALUATION
 How it represents particular social groups?
 What media institution might distribute it and
why?
 What I have learnt from making it.
SOCIAL GROUPS
The main social group that my magazine represents is a the group
of kids that are in college or school and have a part time job. This
group is a very active group who go to parties, concerts and other
extreme events.
I believe my magazine represents this group by the following
things:
• Concert tickets
• The model
• Most of the context are in a form that they are used to
• Popular colours

My model is the main thing that
has allowed me to represent the
social group of teenagers who
are active and go to music
concerts, etc.
MEDIA INSTITUTIONS
My magazine would suit a institution that focusses
on a certain group of people. For example, a car
magazine focuses on people who like cars. My
magazine focuses on teenagers who like rappers.
It has a very slim target audience. This makes my
magazine a niche one and is most suited to a
media institution like ‘Immediate Media’.
Immediate Media cover mainstream and niche
magazines. For example, Match of the day is a
mainstream mag whereas magic golf is a niche
mag because it has a specific audience.
WHAT I’VE LEARNED
Personally, from making this magazine, I have learned that every
little detail needs to be looked at when trying to address the target
audience. The colour, text and images are very important in gaining
the target audiences attention. If the colours and images aren't right
you could attract the wrong type of audience. The magazine needs
to flow and not look to crowded as it would put the younger
audiences off. If the magazine looks packed and has lots of writing
and text this could put younger audiences off.
