TOPIC : SUNRISE STATES
“JOURNEY OF A THOUSAND MILES START
WITH A SINGLE STEP”
TEAM-PATH FINDER
INTRODUCTION
 Today, North-East India is composed of its eight sisters namely Assam, Arunachal Pradesh,
Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. It is one of the most
backward region in whole country.
 Its socio economic conditions reveals the lack of development in this part of India. Prevalence
of mass illiteracy, socio taboos, superstitious beliefs, usage of traditional methods of
production, etc. Are the prominent feature of socio economic factors in north east India.
 It is characterised by low per capita income, poor rate of capital formation, heavy population
pressure, lack of infrastructure, excessive dependence on agriculture and very backward
transport and communication.
SCOPE
 This region includes various resources which are not utilised by the people at vast level to
meet the problems such as natural resources like petroleum, natural gas, etc. and techniques of
manufacturing handicrafts .
 These resources includes the fifth of total resources of India.
REASON TO SELECT THE THEME
 The reason behind choosing this theme is the growth that we can achieve from this region .
Moreover, this can show a rapid increment in the field of development which can lead to
globalisation of the country
REASONS BEHIND LACK OF DEVELOPMENT AND NON-
UTILISATION OF RESOURCES
 Inadequate infrastructure
 Unemployment
 High illiteracy rate
 Lack of awareness
 Lack of people co-operation
 Geographical isolation –
• Hilly terrain plains
• High rainfall
 Absence of leadership and
entrepreneurship
 Communication bottlenecks
 Lack of technology
 Inefficient policies of tourism
 Legacy of backwardness
 Dependence on traditional agriculture
 Inter tribal tensions and disputed borders
SOLUTIONS OF THE PROBLEM
INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
• Organic farming for sustainable
development
• Utilisation of rice fallow area
• Interacting with tribal to provide work at
their level which can increase their
standard
• Migrating cities and crops as much
possible on the hills to get bare land for
setting up plants and industries
• Bio-villages
• Reserving rainfall water and use it in
production of electricity and irrigation
purposes
PRESENT SOLUTIONS
• Small scale industries
• Spreading of awareness
• Building of tribal relations
• Foreign trades
• Increase in tourism
• Rice based farming system
• Sustainable agro-forestry
• On farm water management
• Prospects of floriculture
STEP1
• Analysing the problems and interacting with Tribal's to provide source of income at
their level
• Resulting in less violation and growth of communalism
STEP2
• Setting up effective entrepreneur government ship
• Resulting in relation between neighbouring countries and led to less disputes
STEP3
• Migration of cities and crops(step form cropping) on hills
• Resulting in bare lands for setting up industries and power plants which led to high
employment rate and sources of resources and income
STEP4
• Increasing primary and secondary schools and universities
• Resulting in high literacy rate, better standard of living and achievement of new
talents
STEP5
• Introducing enviornmental awareness and tourism
• Resulting in ecological balance, high per capita income and social capital
STEP6
• Introducing new conventional technologies
• Resulting in vast development of the region and globalisation

FINANCIAL AND HUMAN SOURCES REQUIRED AT
EVERY LEVEL
According to our innovate, at every stage of development there is large
capital investment and number of human source is required and the
most important thing is to keep a vast patience because this much
development takes a large time to achieve success.
SALIENT FEATURES
• Increase in per capita income, high literacy rate and employment at large
scale
• There are enviornmental imbalance but it can be covered by very general
measures like afforestation ,etc.
• Raising the standard of living
• Decreasing the disputes of the community
• Enhancing the growth of cultivation, society and tourism

• Helping in meeting the need of resources which led to decrease in prices
• Restoration of peace and political stability
• Sustainable and balanced attainment of socio economic stability
CHALLENGES AND MITIGATION FACTORS
TECHNICAL CHALLENGES
 Proper site location due to hilly terrains
 Setting up of plant can be a challenge
due to climatic conditions
 High cost of development
ENVIORNMENTAL
CHALLENGES
 Harm to wildlife
 Harm to flora and fauna
 Dispute with tribal
MITIGATION FACTORS
Development should be started by having proper knowledge of
weather forecasting
Enviornmental factors can be over come by afforestation
Peaceful conversation can help in overcoming disputes
“ IF WE HAVE TO GAIN SOMETHING
WE HAVE TO LOOSE SOMETHING”
REFRENCES
 World economic outlook (WEO) update
 Ministry of development of north eastern region
 Growth of tourism sector in india
