Poster
Analysis 2
• The colors that has been used in this movie
poster are that they have dark colors like black
dark blue and red this tells us that they film is
like a superhero movie and that he is trying to
save people from missiles or explosions , the
props that have been used are like missiles,
jets, and some explosions, the costume that
have been used in this poster are that they are
smartly dressed to show us that they are the
main character. There is also the ironman suit
that he uses in the movie to help and save
people from some baddies that might want to
kill things or destroying things, the lighting
that has been used in this poster is that they
made it look dark and they have lighted up the
peoples faces so you can see their expressions
and what they look like,
Poster Analysis 3
The colours that have been used in this poster are that it has a
lot of dark colours to show that the time of day is night but
some of the colours that have been used are bright like for the
name of the movie to make it stand out, The lighting that has
been used are bright lights for the street lights and the
helicopters with spot lights on, but most of the lighting is dark to
show that loads or bad things in movie happen in the dark, the
props that have been used in this movie poster is that they have
used tall building to, cars and helicopters to show that they are
searching for something or someone, the costumes that have
been used are the man that we can see first he is wearing
normal clothes like jeans and a jean style jumper
And the person behind him doesn’t look like a real person
because he is green and he is really tall and he doesn't look real
and he is also wearing shorts that don’t really look like they fit
him and he isn’t wearing a top because he might not be able to
find a top to fit him. The location of this poster is that it looks
like America because they have loads of tall building and it just
looks like it would be America. The people that are in the poster
look like they are both back to back it shows us that they don’t
really like each other
Soundtrack
• Clip 1 this clip was like a
action clip because of how
he is working.
• Clip 2 this clip was like a
romantic because of how
they are close to each
other.
Shining
• The shining didn’t look scary any more because
they have got rid of the bits in the trailer that made
it look scary and just put the bits of the movies that
look ok, then they also changed the sound track to
make it more calm and they change the narrative to
make it like the kids wants to find his dad and the
he finds a different family and hey look after him,
they soundtrack changes what you think about
them and it makes you change what you think and
it makes them look like good people.
Scary Mary
• The trailer with Mary Poppins they made it
scary because they changed the time of day to
be always night and they changed the sound
track to sound more like a horror film and they
put the things that she did in the normal
trailer and then it looked like she did them to
hurt them because the music changes what
you think about the person and it makes you
think that they are a bad person and it look
like someone you shouldn’t trust.
Stereotypes
Men
That men are stronger
than women.
That men should go to
work and earn the
money.
That men should do jobs
like gardening cutting the
grass or fixing cars.
Women
That women should
stay at home and cook
tea and tidy the house.
• That women
shouldn’t go to work
they should be
working in the house.
Stereotypes
Upper Class
That they are rich and
they have big houses
with not many people
living in it and they
have loads of
expensive cars
Working Class
That they have a bit of
money but not a lot but
they have a smaller
sized house and they
have more less room in
the house and they
normal have about 5
people living in a
smaller house
Stereotypes
Old People
That old people don’t
really know how to use
a phone.
That they will have a
lot of information
about the past because
they were living at that
time.
Young People
That they grew up having
a phone and they know
how to use them.
That young people wont
know a lot of history
because they wont have
been alive at that time.
Iconography- Western
• In a western film it would be set on a desert
and it would have some tumbleweed, a small
town that would only have one road going
through it, horses because that’s the only way
to get around, guns to be protected and they
would have cowboy boots with spurs
Iconography- Sci-Fi
• In a sci-Fi film it would be set in space and
they would have like space ships in it and like
sci fi weapons like a lighsaver, space gun and
there might be a fight between over space
ship to take over the other ships
Iconography- Fantasy
• In a fantasy it would be a story that is made up
and it would be like a super hero movie
because they are made up, you would have
things in it like E.T because he was a made up
character. They would also have things in like
castles, dragons, wizards, warlocks and
witches.
Narrative
• Narrative Definition- a spoken or written account of
connected events; a story.
• Linear Narrative Definition- most common form of
narration, where events are largely portrayed in a
chronological order, that is, telling the events in the order
in which they occurred.
• Linear Narrative Film Example
All of the toy story, the dark knight, Harry Potter
Narrative
• Non-Linear Narrative Definition out of
chronological order or in other ways where the narrative
does not follow the direct causality pattern of the events
featured,
• Non-Linear Narrative Film Example
– Kill bill, Dunkirk and Doom
Clip Analysis
• This clip has created meaning through the costumes because for the bad people they used
really dark colours like black they use this because it hides there identity so we don’t know
what they look like and the good people were wearing light brown and white they do this
because these colours are like natural colours this means that you always know who the good
and the bad people are. The lighting create meaning by giving all of the people a colour red
or blue and the people who had the red colour were the bad ones and the ones with the blue
light saves were the good people.
• The music that they used creates meaning by that it was really suspenseful because they
were fighting and it was getting intense but the music made it even more intense because
the music changes the way you think.
• The camerawork that has been used in the clip creates meaning because they used all
different kinds of angles like close ups this is used to make you see their facial expressions or
so you can see what they look like close up, they also used mid shots to show the fighting
scenes and how they used the light sabers and they also used long shots at the beginning so
you cant fully see what is coming in the distances and then the red light saver comes and you
know that there is going to be trouble because of the red.
• Most of the colours that they use are dark because they want to create the scene that it is in
the dark and this has connotations that bad things can happen in the dark they also use some
light colours because of the lights saves and they wanted to make sure you can see them and
know what they are.
• The dialogue that is used in the clip is that they don’t say a lot of words but they say little
sentences so you know what is going on and they use words like duck and cover so you
would know who were the good people because they are defending their own things.

  • 8. Soundtrack • Clip 1 this clip was like a action clip because of how he is working. • Clip 2 this clip was like a romantic because of how they are close to each other.
  • 9. Shining • The shining didn’t look scary any more because they have got rid of the bits in the trailer that made it look scary and just put the bits of the movies that look ok, then they also changed the sound track to make it more calm and they change the narrative to make it like the kids wants to find his dad and the he finds a different family and hey look after him, they soundtrack changes what you think about them and it makes you change what you think and it makes them look like good people.
  • 10. Scary Mary • The trailer with Mary Poppins they made it scary because they changed the time of day to be always night and they changed the sound track to sound more like a horror film and they put the things that she did in the normal trailer and then it looked like she did them to hurt them because the music changes what you think about the person and it makes you think that they are a bad person and it look like someone you shouldn’t trust.
  • 11. Stereotypes Men That men are stronger than women. That men should go to work and earn the money. That men should do jobs like gardening cutting the grass or fixing cars. Women That women should stay at home and cook tea and tidy the house. • That women shouldn’t go to work they should be working in the house.
  • 12. Stereotypes Upper Class That they are rich and they have big houses with not many people living in it and they have loads of expensive cars Working Class That they have a bit of money but not a lot but they have a smaller sized house and they have more less room in the house and they normal have about 5 people living in a smaller house
  • 13. Stereotypes Old People That old people don’t really know how to use a phone. That they will have a lot of information about the past because they were living at that time. Young People That they grew up having a phone and they know how to use them. That young people wont know a lot of history because they wont have been alive at that time.
  • 14. Iconography- Western • In a western film it would be set on a desert and it would have some tumbleweed, a small town that would only have one road going through it, horses because that’s the only way to get around, guns to be protected and they would have cowboy boots with spurs
  • 15. Iconography- Sci-Fi • In a sci-Fi film it would be set in space and they would have like space ships in it and like sci fi weapons like a lighsaver, space gun and there might be a fight between over space ship to take over the other ships
  • 16. Iconography- Fantasy • In a fantasy it would be a story that is made up and it would be like a super hero movie because they are made up, you would have things in it like E.T because he was a made up character. • 17. Narrative • Narrative Definition- a spoken or written account of connected events; a story. • Linear Narrative Definition- most common form of narration, where events are largely portrayed in a chronological order, that is, telling the events in the order in which they occurred. • Linear Narrative Film Example All of the toy story, the dark knight, Harry Potter
  • 18. Narrative • Non-Linear Narrative Definition out of chronological order or in other ways where the narrative does not follow the direct causality pattern of the events featured, • Non-Linear Narrative Film Example – Kill bill, Dunkirk and Doom
  • 19. Clip Analysis • This clip has created meaning through the costumes because for the bad people they used really dark colours like black they use this because it hides there identity so we don’t know what they look like and the good people were wearing light brown and white they do this because these colours are like natural colours this means that you always know who the good and the bad people are. The lighting create meaning by giving all of the people a colour red or blue and the people who had the red colour were the bad ones and the ones with the blue light saves were the good people. • The music that they used creates meaning by that it was really suspenseful because they were fighting and it was getting intense but the music made it even more intense because the music changes the way you think. • The camerawork that has been used in the clip creates meaning because they used all different kinds of angles like close ups this is used to make you see their facial expressions or so you can see what they look like close up, they also used mid shots to show the fighting scenes and how they used the light sabers and they also used long shots at the beginning so you cant fully see what is coming in the distances and then the red light saver comes and you know that there is going to be trouble because of the red. • Most of the colours that they use are dark because they want to create the scene that it is in the dark and this has connotations that bad things can happen in the dark they also use some light colours because of the lights saves and they wanted to make sure you can see them and know what they are. • The dialogue that is used in the clip is that they don’t say a lot of words but they say little sentences so you know what is going on and they use words like duck and cover so you would know who were the good people because they are defending their own things.
