2. For the audio of my music video I will only be having the sound from the track, some
music videos have speaking/background noise at the beginning or end I don’t want
this for my video. For the visual I will be having shots of a person ‘singing’ (miming
the lyrics) with shots of a storyline. I’ll be using natural lighting, outside
settings, casual clothing and a mixture of shots, these are all conventional qualities
of a music video in my genre.
For the print work, there will be one main image used on both texts then on the
inside of the album a sub-image. The title and the artists name will be the most
important parts of the text so will stand out by being the largest and in a different
font to the rest of the information. The colour will be the same on both
texts, having contrasting parts and maybe one bright colour to highlight important
parts. Again quite conventional texts.
I think the video and print work will appeal to my target audience as they follow
conventions of other similar texts which have done well.

3. If my text were to be distributed in the ‘real world’ I think it would be distributed in
shops like HMV and online on websites such as amazon and itunes. It fits in with these
distributors as they sell similar products.
Also my target audience, teenagers, spend time on the internet so a site like amazon
and itunes would be easy access for them, and they shop in the high street which is
where HMV usually is. These three distributors are well known so people would look
there for my product. A lot of teens use ipods/iphones ect so would use itunes to
download music.
They have texts for niche artists as well as big artsist as they have a wide variety of
texts for sale.
Itunes sales help Lianne La havas’s debut album ‘Is Your Love Big Enough?’ get to
number 4 in the UK album charts. Ellie Gouldings ‘Bright Lights’ got to number 1 on the
album charts. This shows they both sold a lot of copies. Success in selling the albums
4. My text will appeal to mainly female, aged 15-20,(due to the age range mainly
students)
They’ll enjoy shopping in high-street shops and online.
They will gain media consumption from, watching TV, social networks and magazines
Enjoy spending time with friends going shopping, to parties and to concerts/gigs.
Average teenage girl.
Females will be able to relate to the storyline as it will be from the females point of
view.
5. I will gratify my audience by keeping the video conventional, and a storyline easy to
follow and matching the lyrics otherwise they might get confused and not like it.
The video needs to be similar to others in the same genre so if the audience like
other artists of the same style they are more likely to watch my music video and
buy the album.
the main point of getting them to watch it is to make it interesting.
The storyline needs to be realistic so and from the females point of view so the
audience can relate to it.
Magazines: NME and Q, I have seen similar artist in these magazines
Facebook: I have seen album advertisements in a sidebar on the home page, as my
target audience use social networks like facebook it would be an ideal way to
advertise.
HMV, Amazon and Itunes: sell similar texts, have a wide audience, and variety of
genres they sell.
Channel 4/E4 have programmes for my target audience so could advertise
album, 4music is aimed at the same audience so play my music video.
Youtube: loads of videos are available to watch on youtube, all different genres, so
people can go here to watch my video.
