2. Introduction
Welcome to the CSU Course Writer Training Course. You already
positively impact our students through your teaching; now you
have the opportunity to help them achieve their educational goals
in another way—by serving as a subject matter expert and creating
instructionally sound, educationally valuable course materials as a
course writer. Designing and developing quality courses is a
foundational component for student success at CSU.
3. Our courses are standardized, so all units of every course you write
will contain the same learning activities and assessments. As a
course writer, you can ensure that all of these course elements are
innovative, high-quality, and engaging, providing a rewarding and
enjoyable educational experience for our students.
4. This course writer training contains five short units that provide an
overview of the course writing process. It will introduce you to the
course writing timeline, the roles of members of the course
revision team, and the foundations of our course vision, as well as
the processes to follow during a course revision, course writer
expectations, and resources that will support your success.
5. During this training, you will be able to determine if course writing
for CSU is a good fit for you. The training will culminate in a short
writing submission in the final unit that will enable you to
demonstrate your course writing skills.
