Friendly and experienced writing consultants.
Offers free writing consultations to help you hone your
writing, reading, critical thinking, researching, and publishing
skills.
The writing studio is open seven days per week.
6. What GROWS Do
Writing consultants collaborate with you to improve your
work and help you grow as a scholarly writer.
Writing consultants can advise you about your
researching process and sometimes suggest alternative
lines of inquiry or approaches to a topic.
7. What Writing Consultants Do
Writing consultants can provide guidance for planning,
organization, headings, grammar, sentence structure, or
other concerns your instructor may have mentioned.
They provide APA Manual guidance.
They respond to your writing-related concerns and
provide support.
8. What Writing Consultants Don’t Do
They do not edit papers.
They do not address every strength and
weakness in your work.
They do not tell you what they think your grade
should be on an assignment or discuss grades
after you receive them.
They do not engage in disparaging discussions
about a professor or assignment.

Only one document will be reviewed in any given week.
Questions to Ask:
Are my sources appropriately scholarly?
Have I supported my arguments well?
Did I address all parts of the topic assigned?
Is each of my paragraphs about one clear main
idea?
Are the sections of my paper organized in such a
way that I build support for my points as the paper
progresses?

To improve your writing, reading, researching and
critical thinking,

To want to return for more consultations. We are
committed to doing everything we can to help
ensure you have a successful and enjoyable
experience at Keiser University.
13. Wrap-Up
The Graduate Online Writing Studio is not an editing service.
You, as graduate students are expected to take the feedback
provided by the writing consultant, practice applying it on
other assignments, and review the professors’ feedback prior
to returning to identify new areas in need of improvement or
to ask for additional guidance on previous feedback.
For your long-term growth as a scholarly writer, you must
participate in that process by reflecting on your strengths and
weaknesses and the ways in which you’ve grown over the
course of an academic term.
Embrace additional ways to hone the craft to strengthen your
weaknesses.

Do you feel as though the webinar had a
cohesive message?
Did you learn information that will help you
with your studies?
