A dominant debate over the past decade has been whether AI will eventually replace people. About this event A dominant debate over the past decade has been whether AI will eventually replace people. Will this result in less jobs, or even a world without jobs? Most economists argue that AI will create jobs, at least at the rate that they are lost to AI. In other words, a pool of jobs will exist, except that they will be different. That sounds mildly reassuring. But Oxford Professor Daniel Susskind breaks rank with his latest book, "A World Without Work." He argues very thoroughly and convincingly that it’s only a matter of time before machines created a world without work. Susskind states that, “the demand for the work of human beings is likely to wither away, gradually.” His arguments for this are very compelling, quite frankly.
