Statement
• I believe I am an enthusiastic person, when given a task that I am interested in I will perform very well
and get great results. Originally I was interested in sports, but once that didn't meet certain expectations I
turned to media, this is why I am mostly interested in the sports side of media as I feel it is a subject in
which I know a lot about and a subject that I am also confident within. Expanding on this a career goal of
mine would be to work in a job that shares both sports and media. As well as this I am interested in all
sides of the media when it comes to sport, this includes television, news, magazine, and gaming, most of
my interests outside of media are just sports related as I feel passion towards this.
• At York College I have studied Creative Media and earned a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media
Production, from this I learnt a lot of skills in media, such as an introduction into journalism through the
creation of magazines and news articles as well as refining this skill through doing this multiple times,
also this has taught me how to use a lot of software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro,
as well as this I achieved a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production, at a distinction level, in this
level 2 media qualification there was a lot of group work showing that I can work well in a group, as I can
contribute as well as listen to others idea's and take on board everything said by others in a group. I also
studied Sport and Exercise Science for a year where I achieved a Pass grade, this shows I have a
knowledge of sport and this is what I want to base most of the projects I do on, this knowledge not just
being on the academic front, this being anatomy, sport psychology etc., but also I have a deep knowledge
in certain sports trivia that I follow, such as football and MMA mostly.
• I currently study Creative Media, this will help me with this course because I have had experience in
creating a range of products related to this course, giving me experience in journalism through the
creation of multiple magazines and news articles. During the first year of this course I made a range of
products, which includes two sports video game designs using Adobe Photoshop, one being MMA based
and another being football based, a short horror/thriller film using Adobe Premier Pro, and a sport based
magazine on football using Adobe Photoshop also. These could help me specifically with this course.
• In the future I want to be doing something in media and related to sport, the main goal for this is sports
journalism. This is as I have always been passionate about sports throughout all of my life and I can talk or
write about this endlessly.
• Outside college I have done many different things, firstly I work at Morrisons and have done since I left
school at 16 and have worked there for over 4 years, this shows I can hold. As well as this I have a lot of
hobbies beside this, mostly being sports, as I have done kickboxing for around 10 years, as well as Jiu-
Jitsu for around 3/4 years, and have achieved a black belt in this through years of dedication and
commitment to the sport, as well as the disciplined rules of the sport and everything surrounding it. I
have also played football most of my life being in a couple different teams from around the age of 6 until
getting a job at the age of 16, this again shows teamwork and a commitment to the team as to the point
of being captain of a team I played for for a couple of years.

  • 10. • I believe I am an enthusiastic person, when given a task that I am interested in I will perform very well and get great results. Originally I was interested in sports, but once that didn't meet certain expectations I turned to media, this is why I am mostly interested in the sports side of media as I feel it is a subject in which I know a lot about and a subject that I am also confident within. Expanding on this a career goal of mine would be to work in a job that shares both sports and media. As well as this I am interested in all sides of the media when it comes to sport, this includes television, news, magazine, and gaming, most of my interests outside of media are just sports related as I feel passion towards this. • At York College I have studied Creative Media and earned a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production, from this I learnt a lot of skills in media, such as an introduction into journalism through the creation of magazines and news articles as well as refining this skill through doing this multiple times, also this has taught me how to use a lot of software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro, as well as this I achieved a Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production, at a distinction level, in this level 2 media qualification there was a lot of group work showing that I can work well in a group, as I can contribute as well as listen to others idea's and take on board everything said by others in a group. I also studied Sport and Exercise Science for a year where I achieved a Pass grade, this shows I have a knowledge of sport and this is what I want to base most of the projects I do on, this knowledge not just being on the academic front, this being anatomy, sport psychology etc., but also I have a deep knowledge in certain sports trivia that I follow, such as football and MMA mostly. • I currently study Creative Media, this will help me with this course because I have had experience in creating a range of products related to this course, giving me experience in journalism through the creation of multiple magazines and news articles. During the first year of this course I made a range of products, which includes two sports video game designs using Adobe Photoshop, one being MMA based and another being football based, a short horror/thriller film using Adobe Premier Pro, and a sport based magazine on football using Adobe Photoshop also. These could help me specifically with this course. • In the future I want to be doing something in media and related to sport, the main goal for this is sports journalism. This is as I have always been passionate about sports throughout all of my life and I can talk or write about this endlessly. • Outside college I have done many different things, firstly I work at Morrisons and have done since I left school at 16 and have worked there for over 4 years, this shows I can hold. As well as this I have a lot of hobbies beside this, mostly being sports, as I have done kickboxing for around 10 years, as well as Jiu- Jitsu for around 3/4 years, and have achieved a black belt in this through years of dedication and commitment to the sport, as well as the disciplined rules of the sport and everything surrounding it. I have also played football most of my life being in a couple different teams from around the age of 6 until getting a job at the age of 16, this again shows teamwork and a commitment to the team as to the point of being captain of a team I played for for a couple of years.
