4. Equipment & Software
One potential problem for this project is not having the
correct equipment I would need to complete my project,
equipment and software both come into one in my project as I
will mostly be exclusively using the computer and software on
this to complete my project.
A way I will solve this issue is through pre-planning everything
that I am going to make and what I am going to make these
on, therefore I will know what equipment and software I need
to use before starting the project. As well as this if I end up
needing any equipment during the production I can always
use the kit booking system college provides to use equipment
that is available.

5. Techniques & Ability
Another potential problem for the project is the techniques that I may need to use for
the designing of my product, this being the techniques of print production and graphic
design. Such as article writing or page design.
I will overcome this problem through creating experiments before I start production,
the first one I will do will be an article and then I will design a page around this as
another experiment. From there I should have developed all the techniques needed
during production, and know any techniques I will need to learn before starting
production through these experiments.
I also have plenty of experience in this before starting these experiments and before
creating my product, I have done similar to this in the fanzine project this year and the
print project in the first year, I have experience in writing articles through the fanzine
project too, and on the website from last years print project.
As well as this if there is techniques I need to learn I will use tutorials in order to learn
new techniques to make things I design unique.

6. Experiment 1 - Article
For this experiment I decided to watch an MMA
fight I haven’t watched before and then write an
article on this, as this is similar to what I will be
doing in my magazine and it is also something
different due to this being an old fight that will
not be relevant or included in the magazine
when I come to making this.

7. Experiment 1 – Article (cont.)
Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin UFC 116:
This article is on the fight between Lesnar and Carwin for the UFC Heavyweight Championship, coming into this fight Carwin had won the interim
heavyweight championship after defeating Frank Mir to earn it due to a knockout in the first round, he was supposed to fight Lesnar for the title at UFC 106
but Lesnar had to pull out due to illness, making his fight with Mir for the interim title and the winner to face Lesnar. Carwin came into the fight as an
undefeated 12-0 fighter who had never been out of the first round in a fight, coming against the 4-1 Lesnar, who everyone believed to be unstoppable.
The first round starts vey tense with neither man wanting to over extend and get caught by the other, until Lesnar shoots in for a takedown after around 30
seconds and is successful in the attempt, although each fighter stands straight back up. Around a minute into the fight Carwin finds his balance and starts
raining in punches, the main one being a lethal uppercut, onto Lesnar backing him up into the cage, and forcing Brock to attempt a couple of takedowns,
until Carwin forces enough into the shot to knock Lesnar down, and then while Lesnar is on the ground Carwin is producing lethal shot after lethal shot to
the downed Lesnar, some people may be surprised the fight wasn’t stopped at this point with Carwin being declared the winner, as Lesnar seems to no
longer be intelligently defending himself, then Carwin has the top mount on Lesnar until around the 2 minutes left mark of the round where he lands
another huge punch to the downed Lesnar and continues the onslaught of ground work on the champion. Lesnar tries to pull guard and manages to get a
half guard while on the bottom, which makes the nest minute more comfortable as Carwin can only let off small shots, eventually Lesnar manages to stand
up with around a minute left in the round and gets underhooks on Carwin against the cage, landing a few knee’s while in this clinch seeing out the round for
Lesnar. This round would have to go down as a 10-8 in favour of Carwin due to the domination of the fighter in this round, scoring a knockdown as well as
multiple significant strikes which almost forced the fight to be stopped.
Going into the second round Lesnar seemed at a huge disadvantage but he still comes out smiling and giving a show of respect to Carwin, whereas Carwin
looks as if he may have gassed out and used all his energy looking for the finish in the first, the two engage in the center but nothing seems to be thrown for
the first 35 seconds, until Carwin again lands a good shot but doesn’t back it up with anything, giving Lesnar the opportunity to land a takedown, which he
succeeds in and has side control of Carwin on the ground, landing multiple shots for the next 50 seconds or so until trying to transition his way into an arm-
triangle choke, which he succeeds in getting and has this applies for around 30 seconds until Lesnar moves his body around more to the side, applying a lot
more pressure and making Carwin unable to breathe, Carwin is forced to tap due to the pressure of this submission, and Lesnar makes his second successful
defense of the UFC heavyweight championship.
Overall this fight was a great fight from start to finish, with the champion being dominated in the first round by Carwin due to some massive shots and far
superior stand-up game by Carwin, and tighten a very technically sound second round from Lesnar, getting the takedown and slowly applying the arm-
triangle choke, at this point Lesnar truly seems unstoppable and a big challenge awaits whoever faces Lesnar next.

8. Experiment 2 – Page Design
For my page design experiment I have decided to
make a double page spread based on a different
sport, so it is still similar to my final product but
not exactly the same, I decided to do this on the
NFL and the SuperBowl, this is as I do not know
much about this subject so it will be a challenge
designing a page around this and if I can do this
and make it a decent design I should do well with
something I know a lot about.
This was done through the use of a lot of different
techniques, one being the use of the guides that
Photoshop provides, this is good use for separating
the two pages, as well as everything being
symmetrical, this is shown in the superbowl logo
and the “2019 how it went down” section, as
there is a guide next to this to make sure
everything is in line and is symmetrical with the
superbowl logo.

9. Storage & Back-Up
One other potential issue during production is losing the
work due to not storing it properly, for example not
backing it up in different places and then where you have
saved it becomes faulty and you can’t access the work.
The solution to this is simple, back up the work in
multiple places, for example One Drive, with a college
account there is 1TB worth of space on this and therefore
you will easily fit all of the work for the project onto this. I
also have a 124GB USB stick incase anything were to
happen, this could also be used as back up for all my
work.

10. THEORETICAL PROBLEMS

11. Production Time
A potential issue during my production is the time it
could take to complete my project and if I fall behind or
don’t keep to this then it will affect my work due to
having to rush in order to complete it before the
deadline.
In order to keep up to date with my work I will stick to a
strict schedule, showing me what I should be doing at all
times during production and will make sure I keep on this,
this will stop me from swaying from the production and
falling behind on any work.

12. Finance
This project should not cost anything as I don’t
have to use any special equipment or travel
anywhere to do specific things for the magazine,
therefore there will be no financial issues in this
project.

13. Health & Safety
I will be sticking to the classroom in this project,
there are no things that I need to be outdoors
for, such as filming or a photo shoot, and
therefore the only health and safety will be to
do with using the computers. This includes not
staying on for too long at a time, as this can
cause headaches, to do this I will take regular
breaks. As well as this make sure the chair I have
is suitable as if not it could cause back pain and
discomfort.
