RATIONALE
1.1 PROPOSAL :
We are given the task to observe and analyse a specific
empty land. Then we are give the task to initiate a small
construction project individually . The entire site that we
have chosen will be utilized for recreation purpose , we
will have to clean the land to be able to remodeled the
soil. The recreation area will consist of small playground
with fitness facilities , small pond with a gazebo and plants
around the park . It is a combination of green space park
and fitness park .
1.2 CONCEPT :
WHY DO WE PROPOSED TO BUILD A RECREATION
AREA ?
The site is currently purposeless and it is an empty space
surrounded by residential area and commercial area . I
found that it would bring a lot of fun for people living
around . It would be great to have a green space and
fitness park in combined not only suitable for kids but
everyone to have a good time . It would be a nice place for
families to have bonding time together during weekends or
holidays . The surrounding is lack of greenery , therefore
the action to renovate the site with natural approach is
necessary . There will be lots of plants surrounding to
provide a natural environment .
2. BENEFITS
2.1 COMMUNITY BENEFIT
Having such an opportunity of implementing a park with
fitness facilities and resting area is a revolutionary step for
the community, to provide the villagers a much better and
healthier environment . The park will also built in green

space concept . Making people living here link to the
nature and develop a deep sense of integration which for
the nature . They can also improve their lifestyle and get a
healthier body by using fitness facilities. Families can have
bonding time together . Parents and grandparents can rest
and chit-chat in the gazebo while the kids can play in the
playground. Beside that , they can also enjoy beautiful
scenery in the park .
2.2 ENVIRONMENTAL BENEFIT :
It is scientifically proven that the presence of plants can
improve the surrounding or quality .Plants absorbs the
main pollutant of the air , carbon dioxide and release
oxygen which is beneficial for the residents’ health and
thus reducing the carbon dioxide concentration around the
area . Besides , plants can reduce the overall temperature
of an area. The trees also provide natural shade which
blocks the sun and its heat .
2.3 PSYCHOLOGICAL BENEFIT :
The park can also help people to release stress and enjoy
the scenery . They can have relax time without thinking
about stressful thing and worrying about anything.
3 IMPACTS :
It will cost very high on its materials and during
construction stage . Furthermore , it will also cause sound
pollution during construction which will affect the
residents.

DESCRIPTION OF MY PROPOSED PROJECT
First of all , lets start by the ground which is fully
flourished by green grass. Then we have a gazebo on a
circular bricks base and a small pond beside gazebo .
People can sit on the benches in the gazebo and rest on .
The benches and gazebo are made from woods. Next ,
the small pond will be surrounded by rocks to prevent
children from felling into the pond . There are trees
surrounding the pond and gazebo. Two stone pathways
connecting the resting area from the entrance of the park .
Some small plants will be planted around the park . There
is a playground beside the gazebo. Some fitness facilities
are available in the park . The shrubs is placed in a
strategic place which will blind the people from outside to
see through the park fully . This is to provide some privacy
for the youngster .The trees in the park also act as natural
shades to people .

analyses data on condition , such as location ,
drainage, and location of structures or environmental
reports and landscaping plans .
• He may involves in estimating cost and overseeing
projects.
• Once work is underway , visiting the site to make
sure the designs are being followed and work is
running smoothly.
QUANTITY SURVEYOR

materials to determine the adequacy and the strength
of foundations , concrete , asphalt, or steel .
GENERAL CONTRACTOR
• General contractors, also known as construction
managers and construction project managers ,
oversee building projects from inception through
completion .
• They plan all phases of a construction project.
• They also estimate the costs of materials and
staffing.
• A general contractor is responsible for the overall
coordination of a project.
• Throughout this park construction , the contractor will
