6. Sketching is simply drawing or painting, especially a preliminary one and
giving the essential features without the details. It also a freehand drawing
process that allows detailers, designers, engineers, architects, technicians and
trades persons to record their ideas quickly on paper without the use of tools.
Once they have recorded their ideas, they can revise and refine their sketches
for presentation to their supervisors or clients. Sketching is also helpful in
preliminary planning of a drawing or layout before using tools. Sketching can be
very gratifying and the results can be more ideal and let people knew more
details about your project. Hence, the reason that I wrote this essay is about to
let us knew more about sketch and how would the process be work out .First, I
would like to start my essay by choosing a kitchen utensil.
First and foremost, I would like to choose a slow cooker as my kitchen
utensil to be my main sketch. Slow cooker is a common kitchen utensil that can
be found in the kitchen of every family. It is such a great helper in the kitchen. It
can easily help people to complete various kinds of delicious dishes. Slow
cookers are made of hard metal which is very solid and will not be easily
deformed. It is also made of stainless steel and will not easily ;rust, so it was
durable lots of people choose to use it. Slow cooker is well made and its multiple
function will save your space as well as time. It takes low heat, moisture and a
long cooking time to create delicious culinary alchemy. Now, they have shed their
retro image and come back into vogue as cash strapped consumers adopt the
ethos of slow, low-energy and low cost living. It use the same amount of
7. electricity as a light bulb. So nowadays, it was been recommended to every
family, it is useful that every family should have one in their kitchen.
Meanwhile, I would like to brief about my sketch of slow cooker. I would
choose to used 2B and HB pencils to complete whole of my sketch .The 2B
pencil is use for the sketch of the darker part and HB pencil is for to sketch the
light part. I choose to use this two different kind of pencil is because I want it to
be more toning and clearer to let people know about the structure of the slow
cooker. I would use some extra tools to help on my sketch such as ruler, eraser,
grids, compass and others to achieve the balance. Everyone have their very own
kind of working methods, but for me, the most important before I start my sketch
was a really empty space and a comfortable environment. This would lead me to
more focus on my sketching and get the best result of my sketch.
Consequently, sketch is a rapidly executed freehand drawing that is not
usually intended as a finished work. First, I need to sketch out the structure of
slow cooker. I would like to use 2B pencil to sketch the body of slow cooker
because it is the main of my sketch. After sketched the body of slow cooker,
others would be easier to sketch. The lighting of the body would be light slowly to
dark. Next would be the cover of slow cooker after completed the body of slow
cooker. It was really hard for me while sketching the part of the cover. I erase it
many times to get my prefect sketch. I used compass to help in sketch out the
8. outline of cover. It was difficult to sketch the outline without the compass. The
most challenging part of my sketching was the handle of the slow cooker. It was
hard because it need to be balance both side and the toning must be equal. It
trained my patient too because I need to balance it everything and keep on
correct my imperfect to perfect. The most easy part of sketching was the timer of
the slow cooker, it was simple and without any complicated outline. Above is how
I completed my sketch.
In summary, this sketch took me 45 minutes to complete it. I learn a lot of
new things after complete this, I knew that there was still a lot of special skills
that will help my sketch to be more prefect. It was really challenging and very
new to me. Anyway, had tried my best and I put lots of effort to complete it to
show the best sketch. Although, it was very hard but I still choose to complete it,
because that will be a lot of improvement on my sketching skill.
