2. OBJECTIVES
• Identify various selection tools available in adobe PS
• Make use of various selection tools in adobe PS
• Choose the proper selection tool to be used based on
the given picture.

3. SELECTION TOOL
• Selection tools are designed to select regions from the active layer so
you can work on them without affecting the unselected areas. Each
tool has its own individual properties, but the selection tools also
share a number of options and features in common.

5. MARQUEE TOOL
• The Marquee tool is the most basic of selection tools and often the
one most useful. This tool is used to draw selections based on
geometric shapes. Specifically, the marquee tool allows you to draw
rectangular and elliptical selections.

• The Rectangular Marquee tool is used for making rectangular
selections within an image. It is among the most basic of tools, and
appears in most every image editing program available.

• The Photoshop Magic Wand Tool is a quick and easy way to select and
mask certain portions of an image, giving you the ability to alter one
part of your image while leaving other parts intact.
• The Magic Wand Tool, known simply as the Magic Wand, is one of the
oldest selection tools in Photoshop. Unlike other selection tools that
select pixels in an image based on shapes or by detecting object
edges, the Magic Wand selects pixels based on tone and color.
