What Is The Series Called?
Tourist Attraction
What Magazine Is It For?
London Magazine
What Is Your Idea? – Location, Models, Lighting, Theme
I will take a variety of landscape photos of popular tourist attractions in London that
will include Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, London Eye and Trafalgar Square. My
pictures will accompany an article in the magazine about the top places to visit in
London that you can see in a day. The pictures will all be shot in the daytime with
natural lighting, as this will showcase the architecture the best whilst being an honest
representation of the sites. The theme of my piece will be inspiration, travel and
opportunities and I shall reflect this in my photos by showing what London has to offer
which will hopefully attract people to visit the tourist spots.
Who Is The Target Audience?
The target audience will be the readers of the magazine so upper working class to
middle class people aged 25 – 50.
Why Is Your Idea Appropriate For The Magazine?
London Magazine often feature articles to attract tourists or people new to London and
encourages them to sight see. My photographs will be appropriate for the magazine as it
will fit in line with what the magazine has produced before, which will also allow me to
build on what has been done before and improve it.
How Are You Going To Achieve The Shots?
I am going to travel to my locations in central London and take photos of them during
the daytime. As I don’t need a large amount of shots and they aren’t too far away from
each other I should be able to shoot all of my photographs within a few hours.
What Techniques Are You Going To Use?

The pictures will feature many different techniques such as large and shallow depth of
field, composition rules and frozen movement. Using multiple techniques will add
variety to my images and will be engaging for the reader to look at.
What Equipment Are You Going To Use?
I will shoot the photos using my Panasonic Lumix G camera and I will edit them using
Aperture photo editing software.
Who Is The Competition? How Is Your Idea Better?
My competition will be photographers who work for newspapers or blogs, as they will
be creating similar content. However, as I will be using a variety of different locations
and techniques it should improve the quality and diversity of my images thus improving
my chances of beating the competition.
